Looks like a quality line-up, Crack Away Jack around the 6/4 mark, Elusive Dream an Chomba Womba around 7/2. I think I will be backing Franchoek at 8s if he takes his chance and hopefully McCoy will be at Haydock :o for the Binocular ride, i just dont think hes right for Franchoek. Not sure where ‘Choc’ will be but hopefully he will be at Ascot to take the ride :D

Maybe Lough Derg aorund 33s would be intresting??

    Any views???

Wasnt that said last year about Francheok, he doesnt train well but hes a different horse when he gets on the track. I’ll keep the faith, plus he owes me money after taking 12s, 8s and 7s for the triumph haha.

Franchoek is a bit hard to train at home, he does as little as possible really, but still has something about him. He is only a 4 year old so has room for improvement.

I personally would like to see him jump fences rather than hurdles, i just think his whole demeanor is more suited to the larger obsticles rather than hurdles. Plus the fact i think he would be good at it.

Looks to be a good race though.

I think Franchoek will go the furthest of these but I don’t think the conditions are ideal for him on Saturday. He is a quality 3m hurdler in the making but his best may not be seen till next season.
Crack Away Jack is a very good prospect and could continue to progress.
Presently, his form probably allows him a rating of 150 and I would have thought he can go higher. But that still leaves him a long way from being a Champion Hurdle prospect currently and his price for that race is based around media hype, something we should all fear!

I think you’re underestimating Crack Away Jack a bit, bahram.

He didn’t find it difficult to give Squadron 16lbs at Chepstow, and that one has subsequently gone on to frank the form more than adequately, imo. I have Crack Away Jack on 155 already (with the promise of more to come), and reckon a 165 performance will be more than good enough to win the Champion Hurdle.

I do think he is vulnerable over Saturday’s trip of 2m3f though, and take Elusive Dream to win that particular race, on his way to humiliating Pettifour in the Stayers.

Seems a strange race to take in in the context of a Champion Hurdle campaign.

Very promising horse, though I cannot believe he is favourite for the Champion (or was when I checked on Betfair last night). What piece of form entitles him to win even an average Champion.

If Sizing Europe is back to his best (big if I know), he is a 170 horse IMO and will demolish them. If not, he probably will win if putting up a 155 performance.

Thimk CAJ deserves to be favourite at Ascot as he has the best chance of winning. But 6/4 looks a bit short at this stage.
This could be Elusive Dream’s trip, don’t know wheter he’d be at his best on soft / heavy.
Chomba Womba looks over priced to me with stable going so well too. Not sure what she beat at Wincanton (Katchit clearly not at his best and Takeroc not finding much. But won easily there.
Franchoek I believe is over rated, beaten fair and square at Chelters and Aintree. Not very big and might struggle if he can not improve again (said that about another King horse last season). May also need the rasce on saturday.

I dont subscribe to the weights and measures stuff too much when it comes to the jumps so I’m happy to rate Crack Away Jack at 148+. Its a big day for him on Saturday, I cant see any sense in 7/1 for the CH at the moment, we’ll know more after the race but he’s no 6/4 shot in my book. I have Elusive Dream and Chomba Womba at 154 and 152 respectively. If it comes up Good ground or better I’m happy to have a punt on Lough Derg at 25/1. His form through My Way De Solzen, Hardy Eustace and Kasbah Bliss over the last 12 months is miles clear of the rest.

Our opinions aren’t a million miles apart are they.He is a good horse but I am told he is 6/4 for Saturdays race and favourite for the Champion which IMO is ridiculous.
He may win on Sat but is not a betting proposition with other similar types and plenty of proven performers.
I agree, Elusive Dream is an equally progressive sort as CAJ.

I suspect Alph will be a juicy price and many will probably say it should be.

Eleven years young, beaten by Snap Tie and a lackluster champion hurdle winner off levels at Kempton. To be fair though, the track, ground and the ride didn’t do the horse any favours but still stuck on gamely in the circumstances. It’s been sent to C Bolger since and could be about to improve a bit too. All this said, i’ll only back it on soft or softer, e/w of course

Bit shocked Crack Away Jack is going here and not Newcastle especially given the bonus on offer, but have to respect his trainer and fact she really thinks he’s top class. Think Chomba will give Henderson sighter, but won’t be up to this and Elusive Dream may need the run.

May have an ew on No Refuge with the way that Howard’s horses are running at the moment.

I’m always a bit apprehensive about quick start horses once the season really gets going they often falter. However I am firmly behind CAJ and think he wil take this in his stride,

She’s getting her money out of this one and not many horses, if any, have won 3 races at this stage of the season and went on to win the big one.

Hope she is not overdoing it…..plenty time to rest him after this one which will probably be the plan.

Emma Lavelle has a poor record when going up north and seldom travels her horses that far these days.

I get the feeling that connections are merely ‘filling time’ before sending Chomba Womba chasing, but whether she’d have had the requisite class to get the better of Elusive Dream anyway is open to question. I’m still not convinced that the Nicholls horse is completely straight forward, but this race looks tailor-made for him and he’ll take some beating if straight.

Super Formen lets Crack Away Jack’s reappearance form down for me, in spite of the weight he was receiving, and I’d be keen to the four-year-old on. I don’t think the weights really favour him – only receiving 3lb from a sizeable seven-year-old in Elusive Dream – and it just strikes me as an odd stepping stone to the Champion Hurdle.

Elusive Dream at 3s with Stan James suits me just fine.

If the ground is good then this race reeks of an easy win for crackaway jack. If it is much worse I may be tempted to have a go on Franchoek, as he likes a stamina test and goes from the front thus if it is bad enough there is the possibility he could run them into the ground. A bet leave for the day I think.
