Am glad I didn’t take my own advice. Took 5/1 Trawlerman ante-post. Couldn’t resist the price.
Can’t really see why Illinois is such a drifter. Has a bit of a rounded action but acts well on good-firm. Is this any firmer? His form isn’t yet as good as Trawlerman, but has scope for improvement over this trip.
Candelari is also improving. I’d have been very keen on him if it wasn’t for the ground. Hasn’t raced on a surface this fast and has only 5 runs in his life after some physical problems. Were those problems something to do with his legs? Will he act on this ground? If so has a good chance.

Trawlerman pulled further clear in the last furlong.The more I know the less I understand.
A proper staying performance by Trawlerman, he just keeps on galloping. I think class got Illinois into second palce, he was running on fumes in the last two furlnogs and may be better dropped back to 2 miles.
A thoroughly praiseworthy horse. A well deserved victory under a good, confident ride from Buick.
Fantastic result for Trawlerman and so happy with my 3rd Place Dubai Future he ran so well..

Illinois looked to be going better around the home turn but couldn’t sustain his challenge as Trawlerman kept up an amazing pace.Value Is Everythingtbh Jac, at one point I thought Dubai Future was going to win.
Bit concerned Buick had gone too fast.Value Is EverythingO’Brien making excuses again.
Illinois wasn’t good enough – simple as.Of course Illinois will have a better chance in the Goodwood Cup, it’s half a mile shorter and Coolmore will probably have a couple of “pacemakers” / spoilers in the race to take on Trawlerman and soften him up.
Value Is EverythingGreat performance from the winner, was back and forward with backing him, the rosallion bet left me playing it safe for the rest of the week so i sat it out!
Dubai future would be very interesting over 1/2 mile shorter, but unlikely to get these conditions
