‘Topped up’ on Illinois. In Ballydoyle I trust ;o)
June 19, 2025 at 16:18 #1733861“tbh Ante-post-wise If anything it puts me off his chance for Ascot. I’ll probably wait until the day now as far as he is concerned”.
Am glad I didn’t take my own advice. Took 5/1 Trawlerman ante-post. Couldn’t resist the price.
Can’t really see why Illinois is such a drifter. Has a bit of a rounded action but acts well on good-firm. Is this any firmer? His form isn’t yet as good as Trawlerman, but has scope for improvement over this trip.
Candelari is also improving. I’d have been very keen on him if it wasn’t for the ground. Hasn’t raced on a surface this fast and has only 5 runs in his life after some physical problems. Were those problems something to do with his legs? Will he act on this ground? If so has a good chance.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 16:19 #1733863Illinois looks a brute of a horse Mike.
I like Trawlerman but not his price so small EW on
Dubai Future 25/1
who won the Dubai World Cup this year beating Trawlerman.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 19, 2025 at 16:24 #1733865wd winners. Straightforward win.
June 19, 2025 at 16:26 #1733869Well ridden by Buick.
Trawlerman pulled further clear in the last furlong. The more I know the less I understand.

Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 16:28 #1733871A proper staying performance by Trawlerman, he just keeps on galloping. I think class got Illinois into second palce, he was running on fumes in the last two furlnogs and may be better dropped back to 2 miles.
June 19, 2025 at 16:29 #1733872A thoroughly praiseworthy horse. A well deserved victory under a good, confident ride from Buick.
June 19, 2025 at 16:31 #1733873Fantastic result for Trawlerman and so happy with my 3rd Place Dubai Future he ran so well..
Well done all winners 🏆Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...June 19, 2025 at 16:31 #1733874“Well ridden by Buick”.
Spot on RTB.
Illinois looked to be going better around the home turn but couldn’t sustain his challenge as Trawlerman kept up an amazing pace.Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 16:33 #1733876Great win by Trawlerman. Strung ’em out like dingleberries on a long hair.
June 19, 2025 at 16:35 #1733877tbh Jac, at one point I thought Dubai Future was going to win.
Bit concerned Buick had gone too fast.Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 16:42 #1733880O’Brien making excuses again.
Illinois wasn’t good enough – simple as.Of course Illinois will have a better chance in the Goodwood Cup, it’s half a mile shorter and Coolmore will probably have a couple of “pacemakers” / spoilers in the race to take on Trawlerman and soften him up.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 16:46 #1733881Hope Candelari is ok.
Ran as if amiss.
Value Is EverythingJune 19, 2025 at 22:57 #1733941Great performance from the winner, was back and forward with backing him, the rosallion bet left me playing it safe for the rest of the week so i sat it out!
Dubai future would be very interesting over 1/2 mile shorter, but unlikely to get these conditions
Illinois just didnt stay, but youd have to expect him to turn the form around nto
