As many have said shame for the race but as I’ve a few tickets with Shiskin at 3-1 from a betting point of view it makes his task even easier , I still think he,d have won with Mullins horse running

As I’m following Heather Mains horses I’ve had to back Numitor albeit not being sure if it will run in the Arkle or the other one. Had a nice ew on Polar Cloud last night on the aw. I’d be kicking myself if it was placed!

Always the worst time of year checking the news and seeing the late non runners
Hopefully Energemene can get back on track soon although the impression is he is more a winter horse than a spring one

I had Energemene to win at the Dublin Festival and this at a big price, very disappointing to hear that he can’t run. It would have been one of the races of the Festival. I don’t think Allmankind is good enough to beat Shishkin. No value anymore, maybe Shishkin for a multiple bet.

Shame how the race has cut but have to be happy with 25’s each way on Captain Guiness 3 places.

Shishkin will have to do something seriously wrong to lose this, however he’s nowhere near a betting proposition now.

I backed Allmankind before his Warwick win and I’m happy to stick with him alone for a bit of fun. That being said I can’t rule out a big run from Captain Guinness who was in the middle of running a big race in the Supreme before being brought down last year. However I can’t justify having two in a field this size.

    Good luck to you Nathan

Now whether Joe has still got it in departments other than his golden pen – where he certainly has, is a matter of fact and mind.
I often hear – ” Remember you are not a spring chicken any more ” and it is a line that always brings mirth to my sheepish mind. I think of myself as a red brownish hen strutting about in a farmyard then breaking into a run and causing a bit of a commotion with a cluck cluck here and a cluck cluck there screaming..
” I am the little red Rooster baby ”

Last year outside my big windows, scaffolding was going up, and there was one gent wearing a blue hard hat, leather belt with fixing tools attached, and passing up heavy planks to the guy above. He was of a certain age. I put up scaffolding myself back in the day, and yes there is a technique, but those planks are really really heavy, on the arms and back.

Anyway – when I popped out later, I spoke to the guy in the lorry –

“I was curious, One of your crew up there is a bit older than the others ? ” He replied Oh that’s Tom he’s 76 and we reckon if he ever stopped he’d probably drop dead in a week – he loves working and I can’t see him ever retire. (I do think it was Tom but may have forgotten the name, but I certainly remembered his age)
I found it quite inspirational and on my later walk I found myself clucking away with a new strut in my step.

I’d put money on Joe doing a ten minute mile quite easily. That will depend on the tendons and cartilages in his knee joints and that may depend if he’s done too much running on roads.

As for Shishkin, he’s got the youth and technique, but there’s always the mind and the desire.

“Oh no Mrs Robinson,I find you very desirable, I find you the most desirable of all my parents friends, but… well erm ..in all honesty .. you’re just too big a fence for me.”

today. I’ll be happy with Allmankind in the 1st 3, I’ve got him at 28/1 :good:

No bet for me in this. It’s a pity Energumene isn’t here as the ground would suit but hey ho. Hoping for some fast fab jumping and maybe another star.
