They say he’s gone at the game but the old guy has still got it! What a post.

February 13, 2021 at 23:17 #1522991No interest at all in the race but i cannot see how you can justify Shishkin being 164 based on his 3 runs over fences. Abracadabras is 5 lb lower than his Supreme runner up rating ( 153 ). Could well be capable of that mind or better.
February 15, 2021 at 22:10 #1523192Thought Allmankind was impressive today and certainly adds an interesting angle to the race for all that i doubt he is good enough to trouble Shiskin and Energumene.
February 15, 2021 at 22:19 #1523195He made an absolute Horlicks of 1 fence but jumping is his strength …he,ll def set up the race but it’s whether he can hang on for 3rd

March 10, 2021 at 12:40 #1528902March 11, 2021 at 22:01 #1529110Out of the shorties I’ve noticed most people think Shishkin is the most vulnerable purely on the basis that he has the best opposition.
Totally understand that but to me Shishkin and Monkfish are the only 2 horses at the festival where I see 0 weaknesses. Shishkin has absolutely everything, there is not 1 weakness. Doesn’t bother me who he’s against when he hasn’t got a weakness. Especially when I can pick plenty of holes in Energumene and Allmankind.
I know some will say envoi also has no weaknesses but the change of stables is a very small concern in my opinion. It shouldn’t matter but there is still a very small chance it has affected him.
So overall, the only 2 bankers for me are monkfish and Shishkin
March 11, 2021 at 22:36 #1529115Jaso- Surely the opposition Shishkin has is much more concerning than a 2 week yard change where he’s done the majority of his work, and will be ridden by the same jockey?
Energumene is better than Shan Blue. AMK is probably as good as him if not better as well.
Shishkin and Envoi are hard to split ability wise for me.
I’d have Envoi much safer for next week betting wise anyway.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 12, 2021 at 10:41 #1529129Energumene doesn’t run, has had a setback.
March 12, 2021 at 11:00 #1529130Shame that, IMO he would have beaten shishkin, but regardless it would have made for a great watch.

March 12, 2021 at 11:10 #1529132Good for bets, bad for the race of the week (IMO). Ah well!

March 12, 2021 at 13:44 #1529150Shame for the race but pleased for me as I backed Shishkin @2.75. Energemene was looking a real threat to Shishkin (although, he did have a tendency to jump to his right which would have hampered him in the race so maybe that would have caused him to fail)
