Envoi Allen would go RSA I’d expect if no Marsh though
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 30, 2021 at 17:50 #1520529I doubt that. Maybe April 2022 could see them clash in the Melling.
BUY THE SUN
January 30, 2021 at 21:11 #1520544The only thing i disagree with you all on is, what has he beaten the last few times? Never out of second gear yes, if allmankind ran in todays race he would have beaten eldorado allen as impressively
That being said i believe shishkin is better than allmankind of course, but none of us will truly know how good he is until he runs in the arkle, the english bunch bar AMK are rotten
Hes the likely winner, but today told me nothing other than he won like his odds said he would….
January 30, 2021 at 22:21 #1520552Question is where will energumene run
If its gd to soft id think he may go to the marsh
January 31, 2021 at 02:49 #1520567It’s alright saying what has Shishkin beaten but what have the others in behind him in the betting beaten?
You can only beat what turns up against you but he’s done it well each time with the minimum of fuss, jumping well looking a natural chaser and in quick times too.
Add in to that he was easily the best of these over hurdles then to me he’s about as close to a certainty as you can get…
January 31, 2021 at 13:51 #1520594Mick Fitz made a valid point that Nico has had to to give him a shove or 2 in a couple of races , he,s picked up proving to that he isn’t a bridle horse …I norm like to take a bridle horse on , he,s also done the business prev at Cheltenham unlike the others at the top of the Arkle betting , I think envoi is the festival banker but this lad won’t get beat either
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 31, 2021 at 14:11 #1520600Sky Sports Racing has just shown a split screen comparing Shishkin’s performance with Ibleo over the same course and distance the day before.
Shishkin ran a far faster time and was quicker from the last to the line than Ibleo despite being heavily eased. He has a serious engine and I honestly cannot see anything living with him.
January 31, 2021 at 16:12 #1520627Thought his jumping was excellent down the straight
February 4, 2021 at 06:12 #1521221Mullins said this about Energumene regarding his weekend assignment…
“I’d like plenty of juice in the ground for him, he’s a big unit.”It’s unlikely he will have the pace to see off Shishkin at Cheltenham. Bottomless ground would be his only hope.
February 4, 2021 at 16:04 #1521268I’ve been backing Shishkin since last March, only got as big as 6/1 but happy with that considering price he is now and I staked with quite a few free bets. I watched Energumene’s debut over fences after hearing a pundit big him up on a podcast and had a nibble at 18/1 (boosted from 16 with PP) back in December.
I like Allmankind and he seems like a lovely horse but can see like last year in the triumph him tearing off before getting swallowed up by Shsihkin and Energumene.
No more bets for me until the day now where I may have another go at Shishkin in running, he has hit a couple of flat spots before running back on well in the past. Not sure if he’s just a bit sleepy or lazy at times but he did it last year in the Supreme even before he was impeded and also around 5 out on Saturday he was woken up again by Nico.
This worked well for me with Altior in the past and might be an angle for anybody who fancies Shishkin but not wanting to play at current prices (8/11 with PP NRNB). I could be talking absolute boll*cks but would think if he does get a tap or two from Nico down to neck to wake him up coming down the hill he could be a lot bigger than 8/11 and maybe a more attractive price for some.
February 6, 2021 at 14:18 #1521651Shishkin – Energumene will be one match-up. They both destroyed the field in all their starts. Hopefully they both stay healthy until the Arkle.
February 6, 2021 at 14:19 #1521652That was ultra impressive from energuemene!
Although few of its key rivals didn’t exactly get clear runs and Guiness fell and enrgeumene got a very easy lead and he jumped out to his right. So I hope people don’t overreact too much.
Shishkin will now be a bigger price which is ideal haha
February 6, 2021 at 14:21 #1521654He has very solid credentials to finish a good second to Shishkin.
February 6, 2021 at 15:17 #1521708Well, its hard not to react positively jas, he easily has the beating of CG regardless of the fall, jumping a touch to the right wont be an issue, its not like asterions jumping to the right, over fences hes beaten better horses over and hes looked more impressive to my eye, now im not saying hes a cert, because shiskins hurdles form puts him at the top, but over fences shsiskins hes not beaten much, the british bunch are utter garbage outwith him
Personally, energumene will beat him and ill be having a bit on, shiskin will need to run every bit of that rating to win. On figures as of now theres not much of a gap as the price suggests
February 6, 2021 at 15:54 #1521737So tired of arguemnets including the phrase ‘ Shishkin or any horse, hasn’t beaten much’
Horses are not responsible for the horse that line up against them. Shishkin finds loads of the bridle as we saw in the supreme so if Nico wanted to ask him for maximum effort in any of his races this season he could have won by many many more lenghts than he has won by. He’s thrashed everything in 3rd gear so far.
Energumene is a terrific pace setter for him I will definitely give you that. Couldn’t ask for a better pace maker
February 6, 2021 at 16:51 #1521761Of course horses are not responsible for who they beat, but its the most important factor in assessing any race
Effortlessly beating 100 rated horses and effortlessly beating 160 rated horses are entirely different things, so it may be an arguement you dont like, but without that measurement, your betting on favouritism for a horse
The betting has backed up what i said and shiskin is now evs and energumene is now into 11/4 at best, it still should be slightly closer in what theyve done.
A couple of times shiskin has looked like coming under slight pressure before bursting out infront, thats a great sign for me so im not knocking him in anyway
My point is, on current form hes going to have to have beaten those horses in 3rd gear to have a chance with energumene, because hes beaten the better horses in 3rd gear
Thats a fact..
February 6, 2021 at 16:53 #1521762PS, pace setters dont beat grade 1 winners on the bridle.
