Just backed Woolcombe Folly 25-1 and Kanagroo Court 33-1. So have Osana and Woolcombe Folly as my main two in this with a smaller bet on Kangaroo Court which I may increase if the ground looks to be in his favour but with this being the first race of the festival on the chase track probably wont really know until afterwards what the ground is.
March 11, 2010 at 09:36 #281612Just a general note that only one of the last 19 winners returned at over 11/1. If it’s gonna win, they know it and back it! Only double-figure priced winner at all since waterloo boy in 1989 (20/1) was flagship in 1999 (11/1).
March 11, 2010 at 09:52 #281617So it could feasibly be 2 in 20 over 11/1 then
March 11, 2010 at 09:59 #281621Of course! Something tells me it’s extremely unlikely though
March 11, 2010 at 10:08 #281622Your talkin abourt double figures on the day Big Bucks, if I remember Tiday Bay was double figures 10-1 not long before the race because of the betting focusing on Noland and Forpadydeplasterer was also available at double figures not too long before the race.
This year however the betting is all focused on 3 horses. None of those 3 is home and hosed in this and I personally think Osana and Woolcombe Folly have the profiles of horses who will be suited to conditions, have been supported enough although with a healthy respect for the aforementioned 3, but I reckon they could go well here.
Trends are onlythere to be shot at.
March 11, 2010 at 10:19 #281627Yep quite right.
March 11, 2010 at 11:07 #281642Henrietta Knight thinks the world of Somersby and she’s a pretty decent judge; after the defection of Tataniano he gets my vote now. Has Cheltenham experience and looks a pretty safe jumper too.
Woolcombe Folly could hardly be in better form after a brilliant 2008 and good comeback in 2010, he’s undoubtedly the dark horse in the race.
Osana has some good form in the top races this season although probably just short of top class – wouldn’t underestimate the Pipe camp though, they could have a very good festival…
March 11, 2010 at 11:19 #281646Osana is with Edward O’Grady these days, rich1985
March 11, 2010 at 11:30 #281649TAPK, thank God both our horses have come this far uninjured, and let’s hope they make it to the post both at 100%!
Good Cee Bee
Here here thm, being the legendary ruler of the Ante-Post kingdom,i take no satisfaction when a well backed horse fails to make the starting line.Come the day when the horses are parading, you will see a flood of money for this years Arkle winner,
Somersby
,the Captain will drift purely on how the race looks on the racecard, funnily enough! Woolecomb folly will attract support for the same reason!
March 11, 2010 at 11:34 #281654Somersby is fast becoming the worst priced horse at the festival. Has done absolutely bugger all compared to his main rivals.
Cometh the day cometh the man!
March 11, 2010 at 11:37 #281657Yes my mistake, living in the past… thank you Grasshopper. I can accommodate anyway, O’Grady can have an equally excellent festival!

If Super-Dun goes in then the Captain will get smashed to pieces! Roll on Tuesday!
March 11, 2010 at 11:50 #281665If Super-Dun goes in then the Captain will get smashed to pieces!
……..probably after jumping three-out.

March 11, 2010 at 12:55 #281686AP qill carry him over the 3rd last!!
March 11, 2010 at 14:30 #281717If Sam Thomas took a heavy fall from Woolcombe Folly is there not a doubt about the horse running?
March 12, 2010 at 11:48 #281864i backed cap cee bee anti post after his fall at leopardstown, but i have started to think over last few days sizing europe is going to going to prove to be a better jumper on better ground and what do they same about 3rd time lucky??
