Fatally injured in Towcester bumper. Only 5. RIP.
April 13, 2011 at 07:38 #350062and his first race too … very sad. I’ve asked before why are there so many injuring legs badly on the flat (I don’t actually know but I assume he did something bad to his leg) … people have suggested that horses are bred for speed, lighter boned, bred for the flat but then taken jumping … but these bumper horses are supposedly bred to be National Hunt prospects so what’s going wrong???
RIP another youngster who should have been around for much much longer.April 13, 2011 at 12:28 #350111Yes it was so sad. I was at Towcester yesterday so saw it happen unfortunately. He’d been running well and was just in the lead when something looked to have gone badly wrong with one of his forelegs and he was swiftly pulled up and dismounted. Such a shame. They had gone at a steady pace throughout so not at all sure what caused it. Just goes to show though to all the antis wanting the national banned that unfortunately these things do happen and its not just over obstacles.
RIP poor boy and condolenses to all connections x - AuthorPosts
