Not too many NH runners with hiked future ratings due an outing tomorrow. Any Given Moment (88 to 94 +6lbs) Kelso 2.10 Thursday temporarily escapes a handicap rise of 6lbs. Ran good 2nd recently at Musselburgh (2oth Dec) btn by Dizzy River due a 10lb future rise.
His new mark looks fair enough, so he should – in theory – have quite an advantage today.
However, like all such penalty carriers, his window of opportunity is short, and his trainer has limited options available, none of which may be ideal.
Imo, AGM isn’t as good on softer ground, and his only other entry (before his new mark kicks in) is on heavy ground at Haydock, so he has little choice but to run today. Might get away wih it if the Kelso ground is drying out, but I wouldn’t pay to see so.
