Any thoughts lads?
Should be a cracking game, there won’t be any quarter given that’s for sure anyway.
Two bets interest me: Any team to win by 1-4 points or a Draw @ 4/5, and Michael Fennelly to be Man of the Match @ 14/1.September 4, 2011 at 12:39 #369890
Got 5/2 on the cats earlier on in the summer and haven’t decided whether to lay any of it off yet.
I don’t think it will be as high scoring as last year and the conditions don’t exactly look perfect. There’s rain forecast and there are a lot of players slipping in the minor match so far. I think a dog fight is going to suit Kilkenny. Having Shefflin fully fit and Brian Hogan back is a big plus for them compared to last year. I can’t see the likes of Tommy Walsh and Noel Hickey being as ineffective this year and it’s hard to see Lar having another Roy of the Rovers type final.
Kilkenny by 4. Shefflin first goal. Tommy Walsh MOTM.September 4, 2011 at 13:26 #369899
Have done KK -2 @ 2/1, and Michael Fennelly for MOTM @ 14/1.
The Cats always seem to land on their feet in the rain!September 4, 2011 at 14:54 #369919
All Kilkenny so far but only two points up. Tipp will be happy enough.
Referee with a bloody nose courtesy of Tommy Walsh’s stick. You wouldn’t see that in the Premiership!September 4, 2011 at 15:11 #369924
Your Tommy Walsh MOTM is looking good so far, plucking balls for sport.September 4, 2011 at 15:14 #369925

I wonder will the stroke he pulled on the ref count against him?!
Kilkenny’s to lose at half time. Tipp will need a goal or two at least and hope that Kilkenny can’t keep up this intensity for seventy minutes.
Murphy, Hogan and particularly Walsh are cleaning up under the high ball. Kelly, McGrath and Corbett not in the game at all for Tipp.September 4, 2011 at 15:25 #369927
You’d have to wonder alright, it’s not exactly the kind of thing you want the hurlers of the future to be looking at!
Hoping for a big Michael Fennelly performance in this half, and the goal won’t do him any harm.
Shefflin is having a good game but his shooting isn’t quite on song yet. Corbett’s been really quite but who’d bet against him popping up with a goal when they need it. Only for a few frees it’s been a complete domination from Kilkenny.
Having said that, there’s only two pucks of the ball in it!September 4, 2011 at 15:44 #369930
Cracking goal. Cummins never saw it.
Game over so it would seem.September 4, 2011 at 15:50 #369931
Tipperary goal. Thought the keeper could have done better. Gap back to 4. Squeaky bum time.September 4, 2011 at 15:58 #369932
Only a goal in it now. Six minutes to go.September 4, 2011 at 15:59 #369933
Shefflin free. Cats should see this one out with another point or two.September 4, 2011 at 16:05 #369934
Kilkenny 2-17 Tipperary 1-16September 4, 2011 at 16:17 #369936
Little doubt that the best team won. Brian Murphy MOTM?September 4, 2011 at 22:23 #369976
Some hammer blow Michael Fennelly getting nominated for MOTM, really got my hopes up!September 4, 2011 at 23:05 #369982
It’s a fix!!!
Even the invisible hurler couldn’t stop young Tommy out there:
