I think Alexandrova is best over 12f and today’s effort should be ignored.

Have to disagree with that, from an early stage it was clear she wasn’t at her best, Fallon was soon niggling along on her and it was no surprise she couldn’t muster the pace to challenge.
October 2, 2006 at 08:09 #78129I think they just picked the wrong race and Fallon rode her as he would at 12f.. She would have won had they gone another furlong.. I’d agree with the statement that over 12f you could ignore this run
October 2, 2006 at 09:41 #78130Fair enough DJ. She didnt seem happy and maybe just had enough for the season.
Its one of those conundrums though. Shes won exteremely well but beaten little…
October 2, 2006 at 10:02 #78131I dont think she was over the top at all yesterday, looked in good shape in the paddock. To me it looked like the 10f on fast ground really caught her out. Perhaps she just wasnt fast enough at the trip but it seemed to me that she just wasn’t used to it that sort of gallop early on in a race. When you look at the time she was given in her 12f races its not surprising. If they go for the mares turf race in America I think we will see a much sharper filly.
