I read somewhere she has been put in at 7/4.
Now I know she has been impressive…very impressive but then again, a would have thought some of the opposition here could be in a different league as to what she has seen recently. Also, what about soft ground..
Anyone going to back her.

    She’ll be odds on now.

Mandesha will give her plenty to think about.

Mandesha will be too busy holding her frock down in the wind as Alexadrova flashes past her like a big jet! She is unbeatable and you have been told!

10f has to be a concern though, if it was over 12f i’d be very confident.. Although considering what she’s done 7/4 isn’t really that bad a price, is it?

It’s such a shame Ouija Board is out. Taken the sparkle out of the race for me.

Definitely the lack of fitness; she’s been a stones better horse since.

They blamed it on her stumbling at the start that day. If you watch the race, she does fall out of the stalls and trip herself almost.. Plus as Gareth says fitness is obviously another factor. Like I said before my main concern is that York was the only time she really had to battle and was beaten. All the other times she’s trolled away from them, but in doing so did prove the York form all wrong. She’s the winner for me..

I can’t see past Alexandrova. The run in May can be discounted and she proved good to soft is no problem with her win at the Ebor meeting.
Having Fallon back on board is a positive as well.
I’m going to stick my neck out here and say Alexandrova will get beaten tomorrow.

This is the best field Alexandrova has faced and she’s running over a trip short of what her peak form is at Even her peak form arguably doesn’t put her clear of either Mandesha or Irridescence both of whom will love the trip. Madesha is unexposed and clearly good, Irridescence won a group one at this trip on her penultimate start before finding the mile too sharp last time against Librettist. Nannina can’t be completely ruled out but tends to disappoint for me.

Mandesha or Irridescence to floor Alexandrova. The 7/1 you can get about Irridescence looks huge.

I expect Alexandrova to win this comfortably. If she doesn’t, I completely agree that Irridescence is likely to be the value – particularly on the PMU.

I really cannot see the drop to 10f being an inconvenience to Alexandrova.
In each of her last 3 races she had her race won from some way out, and I, (along with her trainer, apparently), believe she will be a better horse over this trip.
Having said that, she hasn’t beaten much, or mixed it with older horses. Irridescence certainly has, has the best form imo, and with her last run seen as a prep for this, has to be the bet.

Mandesha wins. Looks a good filly. Another quarter of a mile and Alexandrova would’ve won I think but ten furlongs on fastish ground wasn’t quite far enough.

Two good fillies for next season though if they both stayin training. Mandesha has won over a mile and a half as well so a race between the two over twelve furlongs would be a race to savour.

I don’t know if Lexie would have won, but I think it was either unfortunate early positioning, despite Fallon’s best efforts, or a tactical error on his part; the form of the winner, at least, being too good to give it that lead on that track and expect it to weaken sufficiently to overtake it.

Maybe if she’d had a fantastic break on the inside like Greville Starkey enjoyed that time (I think, on Star Appeal), she would have had a chance, depending on how closely bunched they were at that stage – but not taking her wide and from that far back.

Or am I talking out of the back of my hat? It’s not my pocket.

Fallon rode the horse the way she loves to be ridden. My own opinion is Alexandrova needs twelve furlongs to be seen at her best.

That figures. I doubt if Fallon often fails to get his pozzie or close to it, particularly in a big race.

Why is it the chic and soignee French women involved in sports give us such a buzz, often hilariously? I’ve just seen a swish-looking outrider, done up to the nines, and a stable girl (presumably) wearing a beret and with longish curly hair framing her moosh. I think she even wore a chic scarf. She didn’t seem dressed as if she’d just come form the stable.

Then a couple of Olympic Games ago, there was a French women’s rowing coach holding the hull of their boat, and when I heard it was the French, something told me this could be fun. And sure enough, she’d painted her finger-nails! Then one of the rowers had a sleeked-back hairstyle like a flamenco dancer. Sport or no sport, their priority seems to be a much more ancient war than any sport can represent!

As good as she has looked, look at the subsequent efforts of those she has beaten….

    Not very good…

True she made need further but also possible that what we saw today is as good as she is
