With only seven runners it is a disappointing turnout and another tricky race to unravel but,

    2000 wolves

    Ancient times

    Never Dark

    both win

both have very strong claims here.

Never dark is 2/2 here and therefore has obvious chance having shown a clear liking for this track and trip.

Ancient times is down to last of many winning marks and under the enigmatic Hayley Turner who came in the trademan’s entrance to land her 1000th winner the other night. She went close in her only other ride and won’t be long in getting her 1001st winner…

Hopefully continue the winning run or at least the frequency of horses banging the “physics” button on here.

    THE BOG BANK

    win

    BIG DREAMS

    Each way

draw data and physics means this race is highly winnable for the bog bank and pair of seconds and a third has seen the handicapper dash for cover and without so many good horses coming to a winning mark too this would be clear cut.

Unsighted were my last two runners 🏃‍♀️.
This one is likely to be putting up a much better showing this morning and gets the treatment in at least four different threads 🧵

    I think that’s “enough already”.

    Equinox
Broke all records with a stunningly easy win and the bounce effect is often a problem after a near perfect performance. As I’ve reasoned earlier, none of rivals can be relishing meeting Equinox on the way back down the mountain and even a “poor performance” might be just good enough to win yet again here.
If Equinox loses for only the third time in a whirlwind career, nothing is owed to anyone. I do though think there may be one more scintillating performance to come, although 28 days does seem a little soon after such a good showing and the warnings are there, given this race is one of only two which saw the colours lowered last year so while for some horses this is a winning time of year the biorhythms are not the best for this world class horse.
The yard though must know where they stand over these most obvious concerns and hopefully they can maintain the winning run by saving as much energy from stall 2 as possible. It is in the first five stalls which are as have been proven, ideal places to embark from for group race challenges anywhere in the world. Stall 3 is ideal, but two is good enough. Equinox can enjoy cover from both one and three and four and the outside stalls as well on the traverse of the draw on this turning track. Equinox will be under severe pressure on the home turn from all sides and we’ll have to wait and see if there is anything left in the tank less than a month after breaking a phalanx of records including the course record in a world class time. So any winning distance at all would be sensational and the bookmakers are confident Equinox cannot peak so soon after reaching these heights and have pushed the winning margin of three lengths right out from 6/4 to 7/4.

:good: wow Still assessing the brilliance of Equinox yesterday .
So of course, me being me I now go from the sublime to the ridiculous with a two horse race at kempton. At least ( for the most part anyway) it isn’t on the all weather.
    Kempton 1325

this is a match race which sees the debut over fences of the high class handicap hurdler First Street for the reknowned trainer Nicky “ it was the vet” Henderson.

No doubt whatsoever there is a distance between these two of a street as first street was prominent at Cheltenham last year and is certain to be well schooled for this debut.

There was a lot ( for) me to like about bourbalis’ debut last week where he led the entire race before pulling up due to a slipped saddle. Even if the saddle holds today, he’s nearly twenty pounds wrong at the ratings and would have to put in a high class repeat performance just to make par. Although this could be settled in a matter of strides and first street will only need be pushed out to put distance between his rival here, the lack of cover has to be an issue for the odds on shot and those buying money 💰 may have a few shaky moments or not. You’ve got to love the underdog sometimes,  otherwise what is the point of sport? I’m dangling my carrot 🥕 of eight pounds right under my bookies nose today.

The final piece in my personal jigsaw is the debut hurdles of my cheap french born runner. He was just headed in a juvenile hurdle in September 2020 by Peat Moss who is now racing stateside for Kerri Brion.
I used to work with a Pete Moss and I saw him in the coffee shop in town last week with his wife. They had a house behind my old Allotment.

    Aqueduct 2017 hours USA 🇺🇸

a graded race reduced by two well drawn non runners.

as a result key horses are

    GERRYMANDER

    Win

    GOOD SAM

    WIN WITHOUT GERRYMANDER

these horses are in the same yard and preferrence is for gerrymander who won a match race by 25 lengths.

the form was not franked by the second horse that day, but the fractions were good and the winner was heavily eased.

the odds win without are very favourable and this may be a one yard two horse race.

Wolverhampton 1550 (DUE OFF AT 1600)

    EAGLE DAY

    Win

Only back on opening handicap mark and significant perhaps that winning jockey Ross’s Ryan retains the ride. David Evans often rotates his jockeys. As the best unretained jockey around having been despatched by the eminently ungrateful upstarts of AMMO racing Rossa doesn’t come cheaply even for David Evans. So interesting to see him riding having already done the business and won on him.
Yard seem hopeful of repeat off this same mark as handicap debut.

This horse began in a class three for Kevin Ryan and was slowly lowered in class. So every chance this 170k yearling worth a bit more on the ratings too.

    GOLDSMITH

Hasnt been in the winners enclosure for a long time but ran up a sequence in the middle of his career and a beaten favourite who looks likely to be back on terms again soon….

    churchill bay

    win

dropped 34 pounds to race off career low .penny appears to have finally dropped for this former class two runner. Remains a maiden but encouraging signs in narrow defeats latest and a real chance if able to take advantage of over two and a half stone drop in ratings.
    Shaabaaby

    each way

one of the regulars who is down below a winning mark and although has no secrets from the handicapper sine decent signs and reasons for latest run which offers lots of hope…..
