Al Roc(9-00) 22nd run and Abaya Du Mathan (7-11) 20th run of 2022 are both in the Grand Sefton tomorrow
November 4, 2022 at 21:03 #1621617It’s always great to see horses over the National fences that are 15-35 lbs out of he handicap.
What are their SPs? 100/1 and 1000/1 I’d say….. Can’t see why this is good for the sport at such a venue on a Saturday.November 5, 2022 at 01:13 #1621651And Red Happy, 18th run of the year in Badger Beer tomorrow
November 8, 2022 at 20:42 #1622302Al Roc angered in Sunday’s southern national at Fontwell I noticed

November 8, 2022 at 20:45 #1622303In Boxing a referee will step in to stop the fight if a boxer is punch drunk.
In racing, you could probably race a staying chaser every day without the BHA intervening.
That’s my impression, anyway.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 8, 2022 at 21:05 #1622305I guess Al Roc is entitled to be angered
November 11, 2022 at 14:15 #1622532“Al Roc will be fitter for the run.”
Said no one ever.
Fontwell Park Sunday and he’s not the only one.

November 13, 2022 at 16:36 #1623033If one of these staying chasers who seem to run every month gets killed on a racecourse and PETA or even the RSPCA Beckett aware of its career profile, the antis will have a field day.
Not sure whether David Pipe allowing this to happen in his name or the BHA declining to intervene on animal welfare grounds is the more bewildering.
Don’t they want Jump racing to have a long-term future?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 13, 2022 at 16:55 #1623036Why are these horses never brought up by the racing media? Instead of the usual obsequious interviews, why doesn’t someone question Pipe on the treatment of these poor horses?
November 13, 2022 at 17:00 #1623037Agree Glad. It is not as if Pipe has a stable full of champions and the supine media feel the need to keep him onside. He mostly trains moderate horses, so it is not like a journalist would feel like they had something to lose by questioning him.
November 13, 2022 at 17:01 #1623038Couldn’t agree more, Gladders.
Greyhound racing on the cusp of abolition in Scotland.
Meanwhile, down at Fontwell, four horses in the same ownership declared for this slog and three ran in it.
One look at their career profiles tells you all you need to know about how it makes racing look.
I think it’s bringing racing into potential disrepute and both the BHA and the racing media should be questioning the owner and trainer about it.

November 27, 2022 at 17:56 #1624898Last of three at Leicester today.
November 27, 2022 at 18:08 #1624902And already 24 runs this year with four wins to his name.
November 27, 2022 at 19:52 #1624915I have heard the owners are leaving racing at the end of the season.
November 28, 2022 at 10:19 #1624995Taken from the trainers website.
Al Roc runs in the veterans chase at 3.10pm with Philip Armson on board. This is a much more suitable race for him with and even though he is the outside of the four runner field I would not be surprised to see him run okay. He will love the quicker ground and a return to 2m4f. He has run quite a lot of times but he really does not do much at home – he has a morning swim and then spends the rest of the day in the field, he loves his daily routine and is a very happy horse.
The stable would presumably know him best.
