I usually follow Joe O’Shea blind in this race, but the favourite is plenty short enough and I’m just not drawn to the other two.

I’m going for a ‘famous double’. Famous Clermont won this race in 2023 and while he was nowhere near last year (jockey said he was never travelling), he is still showing plenty of enthusiasm on the point field and his form ties in with my other fancy; Fairy Famous. Another one who is having a good time of it in points and has one of my favourite amateurs on board.

I’ll also throw a dart at Take All who ran a good race at Cheltenham last time out and wasn’t beaten out of sight by Unexpected Party two starts ago.

Three nice big prices to have some each way fun with. The fences aren’t the same, but they still draw me in. Can’t wait.

I was surprised to see 14-1 available for Lets Go Champ, so he’s my main win bet

I’ve also had a little ew on A Jet Of our own at 66-1 to 5 places

I’ll join Wilts and buckers on Let’s Go Champ ew, and an ew on Fan de Blues as well, he has been round these fences before and if his wind holds up he might be a bit better than his 100-1 price suggests.

Not worth backing at those odds before the race, but it isn’t often that 7-4 in a 24-runner race over the Aintree fences is made to look ridiculously good value.

Never seen a horse win like that over those fences albeit he was by some distance the best horse.

The more I know the less I understand.

Despite some decent PTP form, Barton Snow ran in 10 bumpers in Ireland.

Incredible what that change of surroundings and training has achieved
