No Ante Post yet. Any rumblings about who could be running?

Jango Baie seems almost certain to run.

I cant see many of the top Irish horses coming over. Mullins and Elliott have enough to deal with at home.

Looking at forecast and it will be way too dry for the mudlark Fact to File anyway. Mullins saving him for a mid winter bog. Primed for welsh national.

Jukbebox man ruled out until at least Punchestown.

Gerri Colombe mentioned. Cant see him having the legs for 3 Mile around Aintree anymore.

Wonder if it’ll end up a duel between Jango Baie and Grey Dawning, which could be very interesting.

I know they’ve earmarked The National for him, but I thought this would be decent target for Banbridge. Even with an entry for the big one, I’d definitely consider him Antepost here if he got an entry

    Edit……gets the entry

    Banbridge 16’s EW3Pls

Jango is odds on, with Grey Dawning and Spillane’s Tower around the 5-1 mark.

I’ll be putting Jango Baie in a few multiples and I need him for the Ten To Follow competition.
Banbridge priced up like he’s definitely going for the National; Skelton down to ride Protektorat

Jango Baie in a double with Lulamba is the way I’ve gone.

Could be trappy. Think jango wants to be coming off a strong pace, which wouldnt be guaranteed. IET must rate a danger, good aintree record.

Could only be 4 with spillanes tower left in national. Strangely, ground considered ok by same connections who puled him out of gold cup.

If Jango isn’t feeling the effects of his Gold Cup run then he needs to be winning this and pretty handily too.

I backed IET at Cheltenham and to say he was a no show from the very first fence would be an understatement, as he wasn’t even remotely interested in being there and I couldn’t take a chance on him again after that plus I am not certain about the trip for him either (looks a proper 2m4f/2m5f horse to me).

You would imagine that Pic d’Orhy is the clear pace angle but as I have always said about him, he falls short of true G1 level when the top G1 horse show up and his jam is usually bossing weaker rivals at his beloved Ascot plus I am not sure 3m 1f is going to suit him especially if Cobden can’t set his own sedate fractions (Protektorat could spoil their plans if Skelton can’t anchoring him early).

Spillane’s Tower’s form in beating L’Homme Presse ¾L is clearly not good enough so Protektorat (who missed Cheltenham for this so will be fresher) could be the one at a bigger price especially given that they have been putting 8-10mm of water on the course for the last few days to get soft in the going description, which is what he needs.

I’m on Protektorat at 15/2 EW. He’s a fresh horse, likes the track and the Skeltons surely have a few aces left to play over the next three days.

Protektorat for me, but I’ll wait and see if there’s going to be a Rule 4 tomorrow

Jango really should be winning this by a distance , the Mullins horse loves Aintree but you can’t back him after the last run

Pic D’Ohry for the upset at 14-1

I can’t pick two in a five runner field, so it’s a very rare reverse forecast bet for me with Impaire Et Passe and Pic D’ohry

That’s a good bet, Kris. I like doing forecasts in small fields, especially against an even money shot. Pic D’Orhy 14/1 WIN and since I’m also on Protektorat I will reverse both in a forecast.
Spillane Tower is in the wrong race, imo. I don’t think this flat course will suit him.
