Few firms starting to price up….

All about A Plus Tard here, but he can win without a bet for me at that price. Always liked him, and he should take all the beating here.
This is wasted money, as he looks Fairyhouse bound, and I’m not fully convinced this would be the race for him, but I’ve covered Tiger Roll at 16’s with Hills. Hills are very good at going over the odds on ones they know ain’t running, but even with that info, I’m happy to cover him at those odds. The fact they’re still standing the 16’s, when others go 7’s, tells it’s own story. Safe to say it’s a smaler bet for me.
I doubt I’ll have another bet, unless A Plus Tard didn’t trap, though I’d be interested to see what price Dashel Drasher was Antepost, if he got an entry.
Tiger Roll (Doubtful) 16’s
March 31, 2021 at 15:33 #1533775A Plus Tard is certainly the obvious one here, but if Kemboy got an entry, and remained at 5/1, I could maybe take a chance with him
March 31, 2021 at 20:43 #1533823The one rule I always stick to ….ok nearly always is to look for the horses that miss chelt for aintree , we knew he always would miss chelt and I’m not his biggest fan but a fresh clan des obeaux could beat a plus tard … as I’ve said before the GC is a horse breaker and he,s had two tough races this season , I really really really want to see tiger roll run in this
March 31, 2021 at 21:06 #1533826Narrowingthefield put up a stats breakdown of Cheltenham runners backing up at Aintree, and it doesn’t point to being a worry at all. Something like 60 or 70% of winners at Aintree had run at Cheltenham beforehand. Trying to dig out the article.
Not saying your rule can’t be right, but running at Cheltenham isn’t a big worry.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 31, 2021 at 21:17 #1533827I think a lot depends on the gap between Cheltenham and Aintree as well, as that can vary.
April 2, 2021 at 02:09 #1533956I’d be interested in Mister Fisher, if I could get a decent e/w price, stepping up in trip for this. I thought he ran very respectably for a long way (bearing in mind various shuddering errors) in the Ryanair behind Allaho who ran like a machine.
If he could iron out the mistakes, and he could hopefully do so going slower over this trip, and no Allaho(!). That would be my theory he would have a chance of improving the jumping.
Henderson says on the Sporting Life today this is his target, but he isn’t even priced up on oddschecker. Confused.

April 2, 2021 at 14:16 #1534033Jack as Mike says he can depend on the break between the two , a lot of horses run at both now to so that,ll help your stat , it’s just a personal pref , I expect Nicholls to have a good meeting as the has kept a number of horses for it
April 2, 2021 at 14:18 #1534035A Plus Tard not going. For TTF purposes, I’ll be rooting for Clan Des Obeaux.
April 2, 2021 at 16:20 #1534053Fabulous work with getting the 16’s on Tiger Roll, Bobby. It isn’t actually as strong a set of entries as I was expecting and I don’t think it’s too ridiculous to suggest that this could be doable, especially if it cuts up.
I’ll be keeping an eye on the Venetia Williams pair.
April 2, 2021 at 16:36 #1534057Thanks Peter, hopeful anyway, and I’ve just topped up 15-2 as well, as he’s getting bet.
Some ask for an 11yo this, but as you say, it’s not the entries I was expecting, for all there’s enough dangers. Not counting my chickens though, and I’ll be happier when he’s declared.
Clan Des Obeaux the obvious one, but I’m also looking forward to Native River and Waiting Patiently.
April 2, 2021 at 19:39 #1534079Mister Fisher 11/1 e/w for me
Was going to leave him after having a hard race in the ryanair but a double figure price was too big to turn down
There is every chance this is the trip hes wanted all along and he will certainly benefit from the jumping at a slower pace
April 3, 2021 at 12:20 #1534198I think Clan Des Obeaux will be a tough one to beat, but I think that Clondaw Castle could run a big race. I’ve taken 11-1 ew
April 3, 2021 at 18:18 #1534291Tiger Roll will be jumping stiffer fences than he has faced in a good few years.
BUY THE SUN
April 3, 2021 at 22:22 #1534332I wonder who will ride native river now if he runs ( I have my doubts ) , jonjo junior ?
April 4, 2021 at 18:09 #1534439This will be a different experience to last time, so Mister Fisher is a confident selection at 10/1 here
April 6, 2021 at 13:29 #1534674Aso too big here at 40-1. I’m confident that he can place.
April 6, 2021 at 15:34 #1534699It’s a fascinating little race for sure, perhaps not the strongest renewal of all time but it’s a fun puzzle.
With nearly all of these having questions of varying urgency to answer, I thought Clondaw Castle looked a fair price at 9/1. He comes here in flying form, off the back of a career-best performance when upped to 3m for the first time. He’s never screamed ‘Grade 1 horse!’ but then as touched upon, this looks as winnable as any renewal. Will enjoy the ground. Ticks plenty of boxes 📦 ✅
