I keep hold of all my betting slips until I can get home & check the results online. I nearly lost £150 on the Arc in 2008 because my bookie called my horse 4th when it actually dead heated for 3rd.

I don’t agree with people throwing their slips on the floor, it’s littering and it’s rude to expect the shop staff to clean up after you. I always put mine in the bin. You wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) throw litter on the floor anywhere else, so why do people feel they can when they lose a bet? They weren’t forced to put the bet on..
I see people do it and think it’s terrible, so I’d let him lose his £20, unless I’d seen him throw it in the bin, then I’d run after him and tell him he can get his money back.

January 3, 2010 at 14:30 #267360My wife plays the penny machines at the casinoes. if she wins a couple of dollars she plays the dollar machine until they are gone. Then back to the pennies. It works for her.One jackpot on the dollar machine is worth a week at Tahoe.
January 3, 2010 at 14:44 #267363Well done APK … then when it wins, next time you see the other punter you give him his £20; he’s very grateful and slips you a fiver and you pocket the winnings with a clear conscience.
Sorted, except somehow it rings a few bells with me about borrowing from Peter to pay Paul and yet ashamedly I rarely got round to the Paul bit….No Ken,if someone is stupid enough to stick a score on a bloody cartoon horse he deserves to lose it!I would say nothing the next time i saw him and my conscience would still be clear! The only other punter i despise are those that stick pound after pound in a one armed bandit to watch 3 cherries spin round! The word discipline springs to mind!
Let me know if you’re going to become patronising, ATPK.

Being stupid is not a crime TAPK. Does not mean they "deserve to lose it". Hope you don’t teach your kids that particular ethick. Otherwise they may interpret it as, if someone is stupid enough to leave their door open, they deserve to be robbed.
Theft is theft, if you know who the money belongs to, you have a duty to let them know.

Oh goody. And yes, I am one of those "characters" you despise. Of course, you will understand if I despise you for despising people such as myself.

Ginger Policeman, i wont call you stupid because you cant spell ethic,as i often spell words wrong myself! "Stupid" and "Crime" are 2 words i would associate with each other actually but heh! One of the many things i teach my girls is discipline, another courtesy, another tolerance of others, another self control, amongst other things!I personally believe if someone is stupid enough to leave their door open then they deserve to be burgled!I also believe if someone is stupid enough to burgle me when i"m in then they deserve a smacked bottom, there would be no point in calling the Ginger Police as he would be too busy preaching to the masses about ethicks!!

Zip every one to their own i say,i just so happen to love horseracing and the thrill of spotting a young horse and watching it develop into a champion.I love to put my hard earned cash on these horses,it adds to the thrill, every time my selection jumps a fence and lands safely on the other side i get another thrill. If i am fortunate enough to actually see my Ante-Post bet come to fruition,i am delighted. When i"m delighted my horse won me lots of money i like to celebrate with a decent bottle of wine,it gives me a huge sense of well being and keeps my confidence where it needs to be,ready for my next sorte with the bookmakers! You obviously get the same feeling when 3 cherries pop up on your machine! No problem!

You do have a ginger phobia TAPK. You can’t write about me unless you make some ginger referance. Not that it matters. Am only giving an opinion and showing how someones opinion can be interpreted. Just saying in a child’s mind, if you instill in them that someone deserves to be burgled if they leave their door open; the child would be more likely to steel if finding a door open. (Than if taught nobody deserves to be burgled). But that is only my opinion TAPK, not preaching at all.Value Is EverythingJanuary 3, 2010 at 21:11 #267467Tipster then, see there"s no reference to the colour of your hair,i have told you before, anyone who has an edge of originality about themselves and can express that through their posts on here gets my vote! You Sunshine are one of them!
Now if you dont like me calling you Ginger, why do you call yourself Ginger? Try something else like "Carrot top tipster"!

Sorry mate, sometimes i even find myself funny!I don’t mind "Ginger" these days TAPK, it’s just all the other things get a bit monotenous (is that how it’s spelt); when you’ve heard them all 5000 times before. And evry time it’s used the perpetrator thinks it’s the first time I’ve heard it. Though you have not yet used the one I was known by at school. At the time a battery advert’s slogan was, "Duracell, the one with the copper coloured top".
