Irish raider for John McConnell takes on last year’s winner.
Sole runner over from Ireland Oisin Orr the jockey.
Higher Kingdom runs off a career low here having won a novice stakes race for David O’Meara off mid 80s.August 5, 2022 at 15:59 #16100894pm

Lost out by a short head from the same stall in this contest last year.
Has been backed on his last couple of runs and has slipped below a last winning mark of 52 in those runs. Yard impossible to second guess though….
No doubt aimed at this race now and capable jockey holds the reins.August 5, 2022 at 16:39 #1610092Mussleburgh 4.40

No one wants to be backing a horse that fell with your money last time….
Winding river was travelling like a dream coming to the second last. To be fair want jumping fluently up to that point.
But looked all over the winner between fences.
The fall was dramatic.

Tipperary 6.45Six winners a 40/1 third and crimson king just pipped at the post for the second year running. A winner for the soul selection as well courtesy of Henry De Bromhead and Racheal Blackmore. So fair to say back to form in August. Maybe just one more selection, with hopefully a tad more notice……

For Ger Lyons looks the likely winner here.
But an interesting long standing maiden reappears.
I know I can has placed numerous times and actually won on second start but tested positive for a prohibited substance so remains a maiden.

So ended with seven good winners.August 6, 2022 at 13:02 #1610214Doncaster’s first helping of the racing league the other night showed that there are some great lines to follow.
Any comparisons made with the competition on show today at Ascot are just that and team racing throws up plenty of questions.

CAIRO

To make a big impression on debut.
Aidan O’Brien had the mare of the sire and the two year old line is highly precocious as she was a juvenile winner by a wide margin and the sire is a high quality us bred. Entered up and while they come on for a run this doesn’t look too deep a race. Given they have had to wait to introduce this horse I’d like to think there is an element of readiness now.August 6, 2022 at 14:56 #1610236CAIRO
Showed the bare margins between success and failure.
Got going late and when the penny dropped came home well. Never going to be pressed too hard and gives the yard plenty to work with. Certainly very well forward as expected and split the only two previously placed runners in the field.August 6, 2022 at 15:55 #1610240Newmarket 4.20

Dropped back to 6f for first time since winning at Dundalk off this mark.
Down to the mark in just three runs.
Drawn in stall 12. This race won from stall 11 last year with one more runner in the field. Draw has favoured high stalls in this race averaging at 14.25 winning stall over four runs.August 6, 2022 at 17:25 #1610265The Curragh 5.25
