Quality of racing is excellent with Haydock being especially good,however,like Jim says racing is interesting most days if you are looking at it from a punters perspective……..in a quest for winners i usually throw my net far and wide, yesterday my main interest was in France at a racecourse most of you wouldn`t have heard of,i`ve always been convinced that this games all about being flexible !!
Huntingdon
1.25 GAUVAIN *** (BF 3.4) should be favourite in my opinion, h`capper has given him a rating of 119 which officially puts him in front of the penalised RAJEH,more to the point is this horse really does have potential to go on this season,Charlie Mann has them in good form,the track and any easing in conditions will suit,RAJEH looks a bit of a softy,he travelled like the winner last time but didn`t do much once asked for his effort,maybe he`s a nearly horse!
1.55 SOULARD* (BF 5.1) Put in a nice round of jumping from the front on his debut, this track suits that attacking style,in receipt of the age allowance he`s worth chancing to small stakes,DUSKY WARBLER does`t do a lot for me, he`s gormless and i very much doubt he will go on as a chaser,DARYAL comes from a stable in form but he will need to show a bit more than lto and we dont know how he will jump a fence!
2.25 METAPHORIC * (BF 3.0) Must admit i was a bit surprised to see “bottle“ (2-1) being available,i would have tissued him up at nearer the 5-4 mark, thus a value bet more than anything(yes their is value at any level if you have a strong opinion), two miles could be a bit sharp and we dont know if he will take to hurdling,all the same 100 rated on the flat means he`s certainly got the engine,furthermore,he`s got plenty of scope,BORMO looks more a chasing type whilst PEREDUR isn`t very good,ART PROFESSOR is the only conceivable danger, he too looks like a real hurdler but giving weight to an horse rated 35lbs better on the flat means he will need a massive underperformance from the sel.
ASCOT
1.20 FLYING ENTERPRISE * (5-1 General) Venetia Williams seems to have her string in form following a quiet period,this horse will be well suited by the track,he goes well fresh and his h`cap mark is in order!
2.55 HENNESSY** (9-2 general) Really like this horse,he looks a 100% chaser and this is supported by the trainers willingness to take him over fences after only 8 runs (equally divided NHF and hurdles), Mick Fitz rides this track as well as anyone , fitness isn`t an issue so despite respective hurdles mark suggesting he has plenty to find i prefer him to the “jolly“ LABELTHOU, whilst the latter is a very talented Mare i doubt the trainer as her really wound up for the re-introduction, the going is also on the fast side for this mudlover, i also wonder whether she as the scope to jump fences, HERE`s JOHNNY was a revelation when popping up first time out,however,whilst he`s respected we know how good he is so with a penalty im confident we can beat him.
* Interesting
** Looks real value
***BankerBest of luck
