Don’t let the orange one get into your head Gord!
Our
game’s just kicking off, it’s time to show ’em who’s king round here!
October 20, 2013 at 14:37 #455607No worries there Boz,Ginge is good with weights and scales and literally laundering money but I think we all now know he’s a Pound a point man so the big boys leave him to play with himself,so to speak! I of course am a legend, the legendary king of foresight, ruler of the Ante-Post Kingdom…..Queue Rocky Music,…."dum, dum dum dum,dum de do dum dum dum" And TAPK enters the room dressed in his regal attire, Crown perched firmly on his head and Women falling at my feet whispering Sexual favours.I raise one hand and calmly suggest
My Tent or Yours
and there’s a rush for the Garden,I order a bottle of Bolly to be brought to my table and shout
Shutthefrontdoor
,my Ginger Jester attends that need.As I’m seated comfortably my special guest is escorted in,he’s flown over to attend this Knight of the round table hooha and as he attempts to bow to me he falls over,a bloody habit he needs to sort before Cheltenham.Welcome
Boston Bob
I say………….to be continued!
October 20, 2013 at 15:30 #455615If the ground rides very fast i’d give the 20/1 shot
Dandino
a shout,he’s a proper 11/2m horse but has a touch of speed,he’s closely linked with ‘Sea Moon’ too. 5/2 about an ex-European horse winning the Melbourne Cup would do for me as the Aussies have nowt special themselves, just shows what a poor bunch they are.
By all accounts
Dandino
ran a blinder in the Caulfield cup yesterday and that should see him spot on for the Melbourne cup next.I’ve never backed the winner of Australias Greatest race before but if him and
Simenon
line up there could be celebrations in the TAPK household.
October 20, 2013 at 20:25 #455644One couldn’t fail to be impressed by
The New One
today,he beat a Champion hurdle winner albeit a rusty one but he proved there’s a high class engine in there, the clock says it was good too in relation to every other race at Kempton today. He’s not grown a deal but looks a powerful sort, his jumping to the rights fine around these sort of courses but it wont go down so well at Cheltenham.Come ‘International’ day I’d expect ‘Rock on Ruby’ to trouble him a bit more. What I dont like about this ‘Twiston-Davies’ wonder horse is his scratchy round action,he’s very low to the floor and one mistake could kybosh him.Time though is on his side and I expect him to be the only danger to my fellow come March.I’ve said it before but this ‘Our Conor’ has No chance of winning the champion hurdle and I’d take todays winner everytime over the Irish horse.
My Tent or Yours
though is a far bigger more imposing fellow who just has too much scope for his little adversary.
October 21, 2013 at 17:11 #455739Gord what chance you give ROCK ON RUBY 25/1 EW in the world hurdle wants further than 2m he does
Also you see this CENTURY is supplemented i know 3 other horses been supplemented too but i think CENTURY is above them all. and confirm himself as the 2nd best middle distance 2yo from the yard behind my AUSTRALIA of course
October 22, 2013 at 20:21 #455855‘Rock on Ruby’ should be jumping fences Darren,he’s not a Champion hurdler anymore…….World hurdle?? Not convinced I’m all over
At Fishers Cross
myself and wont be swayed.
The first big jumps race for me every year is the Paddy Power Gold cup in its tenth year of sponsorship but I will always call it The Mackeson myself, sadly this year wont see David Johnson in attendance and he’ll be sorely missed.Davids horses ruled this race back in the early 2000’s and he won fortunes backing them,Cyfor Maltas
2nd victory was unbelievable but both
Challenger du Luc
and
Celestial Gold
were handicap blots getting in with only 10 stone a piece! My greatest victory in the race came from The Dukes
Another Coral
ridden by my fav jump jockey Richard Dunwoody, watching Woody on a long rein junping 3 out around Cheltenham is Pure Poetry of a spectacle.
I seeSimonsig
and
Dynaste
share favouritsm at 5/1 for this years showpiece and yet the latter trades at 36’s on the machine! Worse still is my fancy
Captain Conan
10/1 on the High St is 55’s on the machine! Shall I risk a tenner? Nicky looks to have this race covered with
Radjhani Express
22’s on the machine also quoted.
October 23, 2013 at 12:49 #455906Have a look at O Briens "second string"in the first at tipp tomorrow. A spy tells me Joseph may be on the wrong one here although you prob knew about him before he was conceived!!! Montjeu out of a xaar mare.
This montjeu/ xaar horse runs 1510 navan Gord. Again APOB has fav in the race . Have availed of the early 7/1 with a slight r4
October 23, 2013 at 13:50 #455908Gord; I’m on Simenon and Dandino as we’ll probably hear each other shouting in 2 weeks time
. Just need a good barrier draw now [and for the rain to stop].
October 23, 2013 at 13:52 #455910ps; not going to Southwell tomorrow are you? It’s quite a nice little card [again hope it stops raining; I understand the Bramely Apple still hasn’t recovered from the last flood…]
October 24, 2013 at 16:41 #456021Gord as you know i been saying same thing about ROCK ON RUBY was my arkle horse but they choose to stay hurdling i think it is a mistake.
Any thoughts on racingpost trophy as well
And any thoughts on breeders cup i see your CHRISTIFOLO COLOMBO a big price in mile race he get the fast conditions he wants there.DANK,DECLRATION OF WAR,THE FUGUE i can see winning too.
October 24, 2013 at 19:19 #456030Adjusted
ran creditibly ‘Circles’ not one I’ll get too excited about though,I do like
Century
though darren for the Racing Post trophy and 4/1 has been taken by moi!
I never got to Southwell Moe but am planning a boat trip there next year when the Trent subsides!!
I have taken the 16/1 aboutCristoforo Colombo
darren for the Breeders Cup Mile as its been a race I’ve had on the back of my mind since Aiden started messing about with him.I said last year that the 3 best 2yo’s were
Dawn Approach
,
Cristoforo Colombo
and
Olympic Glory
,all 3 came from the ‘Coventry’ and I still have faith in my No2 granted he steps back up to a mile on fast ground!Lets hope he turns up as it could be a single figure field and 16/1 e/w to 3 places will do for me!
October 25, 2013 at 11:26 #456090All being well we’ll see this years RSA winner
Shutthefrontdoor
make his Chasing debut tomorrow at Aintree. Its well documented that I the King of Foresight said this fellow has to go chasing this year as he looks to me like a horse who can go all the way over fences.I’m not too bothered about who turns up this weekend as its all about jumping,I know he has the engine and the scope to improve,Jon-jo will have left plenty to work on and a trip to Cheltenham in November for the 3m Nov chase on Paddy Power day a race the legendary ‘Albertas Run’ took en-route to RSA success.I of course have dug deep and hard for the 66/1 about my fellow emulating one of my fav racehorses but those sort of prices are what TAPK excels at,remember me putting ‘Albert’ up at 90’s for the Ryanair when everyone thought he’d take the Gold Cup route?Who can forget? Time to start snaffling again methinks!
October 25, 2013 at 22:34 #456156I see our old pal Stubbs is out at Donny tomorrow Gord. Not seen since Royal Ascot, he faces a couple of promising sorts in Night Of Thunder and Aeolus. I am not sure what to make of the race with Stubbs being absent for so long and it seems odd they would race him this late on the season particularly after a disappointing effort in a race where the form has seen only 2 winners from 43 runs since. I had to laugh when I saw a betting forecast with Stubbs at 10/11 and he is generally 5/2 jf with the Hannon horse Night Of Thunder, who hosed up 6 lengths on the soft last time. Aeolus is not far behind these two, perhaps a little surprising considering he is from the smaller McMahon stable and won a Nursery last time, albeit impressively.
A tricky one to call and I am sure the betting would be very different if Stubbs were coming here without the layoff and poor last effort.
Good luck to all this weekend.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 26, 2013 at 21:58 #456336Steve for a horse so stoutly bred I am amazed Aiden still runs
Stubbs
over 6f.Amazed I am darren! For a horse who will be running over a 11/2m at 3 he did surprisingly well today. All I can hope for though is that he runs in a Guineas trial come the spring and team Coolmore allow him to take his chance at Newmarket as he’ll be seen to much greater effect over a mile come May.I see ‘Boylesports’ still keep him as a 16/1 chance for the 2000Gns when 50/1 is freely available elsewhere.I wont be losing sleep over the winter about
Stubbs
but I maintain he is a Group 1 horse,he’ll probably go and win the bloody Irish 2000gns now!
If ‘Stubbs’ is my great white hope for classic glory next year thenShutthefrontdoor
is my jumps version of the same ilk.I was delighted with todays performance over an inadequate 21/2m.The 6/4 lasted no longer than lunchtime today as the opposition were a league below this fellow and he did his RSA chances a massive boost,20/1 is still freely available about the 2015 Gold Cup winner landing this seasons RSA and I’m advising you all to take it such is TAPK’s confidence in this horse as there’s no other target suitable for him.
October 27, 2013 at 22:06 #456425I love it when Bookmakers dont see the same race as me,dozens of times over the years I’ve spotted a horse and thought….Target? Arguably my greatest achievement was backing
Harbinger
back in Aug 09 at 25/1 for the 2010 King George at Ascot after finishing stone cold last in the Voltigeur as a hotpot fav. What makes that particular wager so satisfying was the fact I’d also backed
Workforce
at 25/1 for the 2010 Derby and then the Arc at 40’s,in between those 2 fantastic victories ‘Workforce’ went off the odds-on fav for that very King George and lost to his 4yo Stablemate.Me being TAPK of course told all and sundry that for all the impression ‘Harbinger’ made on lightening fast ground at Ascot that historical day he wouldn’t beat ‘Workforce’ in the Arc on slower ground, the rest they say is history.Steve Mellish was a significant benefactor from ‘Workforce’ too that year,Good judge that fellow.Talking of good judges and coups I remember Steves right hand ‘man’ Lydia Hyslop waxing lyrical about my horse
Albertas Run
after he won a minor Nov chase at Cheltenham in November 07,I agreed with her every word about how he could be a serious player for the following years RSA,he traded at 16/1 after that and duly landed the big Novice chase over 3m at the festival.I’d like to know these 2 fine presenters views on this seasons RSA Winner,
Shutthefrontdoor
.Corals obviously aren’t watching the same horse going 25/1 today, good old Corals.
Shutthefrontdoor
£50 e/w 25/1 Corals RSA 2014.
