Kingfisher ran a nice enough race there in 4th… But the winner looks a proper animal! Another possible Derby horse? I need to watch it again but
Free Eagle
looks very exciting.
Yes Tommy that was a serious maiden there at Leopardstown, the winners a proper Derby horse,a half brother to the very useful
Sapphire
trained by Dermot Weld for the same connections who got the 11/2m easy,I personally liked
Wexford town
, who’s a full brother to
Trading Leather
! Both the Coolmore colts have to be watched too so I’d expect a Group 1 winner or 2 coming from this race. We’ll see!
That was a performance to be noted today by
Kingfisher
boosting the above maiden as a bit special.
August 28, 2013 at 23:23 #4497042nd placed Orchestra has since won comfortably too Gord, nice to see the form working out well so far.
August 29, 2013 at 18:37 #449775I was out with the Knights last evening down at an old Casino that used to employ me as a Croupier when I was a teenager,it hadn’t changed much, still no Clocks and Free snacks and Hot drinks and of course the regular Chinese fraternity who frequent it.Having worked in a Casino I remember our meetings after hours going through security video watching every table and the ‘select’ visitors who were regular winners. The old myth that every successful punter was shown the door after a string of victories is just a falacy as they were actually good for encouraging business and the hangers-on who lost were only covering the
Professionals
winnings. What is always significant about the dedicated Pro roulette player is that they play serious money on the Black/Red even money bet, most try to disguise there wagers by punting small stakes around the table.Green 0 was of no significant cost to these guys as it very rarely comes up but unlike the Chinese who love to bet on 1-36 the serious punter never did.Unfortunately for these guys who did make money at Roulette and it might only be £100-£200 every other night or three but I never did give them any credit as far as skill was concerned as imo its just luck, fair play for narrowing the odds down to a simple heads/tails wager and maintaining the discipline but I always felt the skill in a wager was to use your powers of deduction and thats why I love Horseracing,I enjoyed the night though.
August 30, 2013 at 09:33 #449818Gord you missed my last 2 posts you did so hope you reply back
And i add this one too from arkle betting i do not see any superstars there what you think.Unless ANNIE POWER goes chasing heard no news on her future targets yet but in terms of top 2m chasers not many stars.
Does that mean you’ve lost the faith in
Defy Logic
Darren?
If
Annie Power
stays hurdling I think she’s a serious Champion Hurdle contender. As a backer, I hope Quevega makes it to the mares’ race just to be sure this is where Annie goes!
August 30, 2013 at 15:27 #449864Tommy was going to put this in your thread but keep it here.Any irish horses you like in Cesarewitch i am on DOMINATION at 14/1
Also i forget about DEFY LOGIC think he do well over fences but attiude a bit off putting
I hope ANNIE POWER goes for champion hurdle on her at 40/1 think she got a great chance.Though gord think she got no hope and bob hope in champion hurdle.
August 31, 2013 at 12:05 #449951Racing better for watching today but have had a little EW play on one of our old favourites The Captain has dropped to his lowest mark in many years but could go well round Chester, also taken another old un in Regal Parade, EW double too!
At Sandown have done Clive Cox’s 3 in an EW trixie
August 31, 2013 at 21:25 #450022The 2000 Guineas was first run on April 18th 1809 and to this day is regarded as the most prestigious race for 3yo’s over a mile.In that time legendary trainers have all won it,the Cecils,Harwoods,O’Briens,Hannons,Stoutes and Godolphins to name but a few.One name missing from that list is
John Gosden
! Why? I’ll tell you why,its because he cant get a 3yo colt ready in time for the first Classic of the season and thats a fact.Today
Kingman
proved why he is the 7/2 fav in todays Solario Stakes at Sandown,he made the useful ‘Emirates Flyer’ look average today and when he loomed alongside the Godolphin colt at the furlong pole he positively towered over him and that is where Johnny G’s problems will start, preparing this big gross bull of a horse for Newmarket.Mark my words the phrase,"We’ll see if he comes to himself" will be used more times by Gosden when asked about his potential first 2000 gns winner than Aiden O’brien saying ‘Listen,’War Command’ needs a flat even gallop to show his best’.Those who are sitting on double figure prices about this son of a French 1000gns winner will suffer from twitchy bum syndrome come April next year as John waffles on about time running out to get a run into him!No pressure John!
September 1, 2013 at 09:30 #450042September 1, 2013 at 10:01 #450046Get ready for a loud Pop this afternoon as ‘Kiyoshi’ the 5/1 fav for next years 1000 gns gets turned over today,TAPK still has a 100% record on here for his ‘Lays of the day’ and she is it today! Those who have taken the 5/1 with Ladbrokes………Oh dear! TAPK is never wrong when it comes to Laying horses!!
Dont you just love it when I set myself up for a huge fall??
Then when I’m right you think,"That smarmy B*stards done it again"…I know, its all part of being a legend!
Ginge? Watch and learn son, watch and learn!September 1, 2013 at 12:00 #450051Gord what you think of my ante post bet for cesarewitch
And on Gosden in terms not of having a 2000 guineas winner i think it be next year.A trainer that not won a certain race before does not mean he never win it.Am sure top trainers like Nicky Henderson who always had top novice hurdlers never won the neptune untill SIMONSIG came along.Same with Paul Nicholls people said he never train a grand national winner but in the end he did with Neptune Collognes. In the end top trainers can always win a race that they never have before.

Ginge? Watch and learn son, watch and learn!Another Class post from the King of Laying……….It got messy though,’Kiyoshi’ took out ‘Wonderfully’ but both her and ‘Perhaps’ blocked
Tapestrys
path through then the worthy winner the tough and game ‘Rizeena’ shut the door on next years 1000gns winner again.I saw enough today that tells me
Tapestry
will beat both ‘Rizeena’ and ‘Kiyoshi’ over Newmarkets mile and go on to win the Oaks too, that was a proper Group 1 race there and ‘Kiyoshi’ has speed to burn but wont get the Rowley mile,1/5 in running and Pop goes the weasel!
September 1, 2013 at 15:37 #450061Being the King of Ante-Post betting and horseflesh judge extroadinaire I look forward to seeing the current Fav for next years 1000gns deposed this weekend in the ‘Moyglare’ at the Curragh. This ‘Kiyoshi’ currently trades at around the 6/1 mark for mext years Classic, only 5/1 with Ladbrokes, that will all change on Sunday.
Some say my balls are made from Crystal!
The favs flip flop and ‘Kiyoshi’ is out to 11’s on the machine.Tapestry
8/1 joint fav with todays worthy winner ‘Rizeena’.Good luck to Clive Brittain doing another
Pebbles
with this filly who really will struggle to get the mile on breeding. My filly on the other hand is bred to get a lot further.
September 1, 2013 at 20:51 #450079The word Legend,meaning……..’An extremely famous or notorious person especially in a particular field’ just about sums me up but to be a living legend requires the ability to back up such a lofty status again that sits comfortably with me.What seperates me from others is the ability to pull the occassional star from a galaxy. Most judges will have written off my 2000gns horse
Stubbs
by now, what with ‘Great White Eagle’,’Australia’ ‘Indian Maharaja’ and ‘War Command’ et al all flying the Coolmore Flag but when I see a Shooting Star I know just by comparison from previous encounters with inter-galactic phenomena if its the real deal or not and I considering all known evidence still believes
Stubbs
is a Group 1 horse so much so I’ve taken the 50/1 with Bet 365 again tonight about this fellow winning next years 2000gns!
Thats what makes TAPKdifferent
! The only other horse I’ve backed for next years Guineas is
Berkshire
at 20’s,he’s a serious player too.
Stubbs
£50 e/w 50/1 Bet365 2000gns 2014.

September 2, 2013 at 07:49 #450091Wow that is some difference Gord! Incredible. Amazing I might even say. You look even chubbier and paler than you did 2 months ago!
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 2, 2013 at 11:14 #450102Gord my horse for Cesarewitch is DOMINATION 14/1 won at 3m over jumps but also won trail race last year at Newmarket. if ground stays fast he be a big danger to the tiger.
I can see where you are coming from Darren with this
Domination
as National hunt related horses/Trainers have a superb record in the Cesarewitch and you really need a stayer.Obviously I cant oppose what is currently my number 1 Supreme hurdle horse in
Tiger Cliff
,he is the class horse in the race imo but I also have a sneaky fiver on
Mubaraza
at 16/1,he’ll stay no problem too.Good Luck,I see that bloody ‘Camborne’ holds an entry also!
