Do you really think the bubble burst on Intello Gord? I thought he ran really well for a horse that is surely suited by further.
I heard a bigger pop from the Curragh Joni, that bloody
War Command
wont be going to Newmarket,No way! As for
Intello
,those who have backed him for the Arc wont be dissapointed that he looked one paced over a mile but Andre knows that
Flintshire
is different gravy,he’s be better sending ‘Intello’ to Ascot for the Champion stakes! Just remember too what
Dawn Approach
did to
Olympic glory
last year, the real Bolger horse would have won today.I said he looked flat at Goodwood……….He looked flatter today!! I believe Luck plays a massive part in Horseracing, far more than the Ginger one
accomodates in his approach to the game and after todays Prix Jaques le Marois I feel ‘Lucky’ that I won on this years 2000gns! ‘Toronado’ was my only danger at Newmarket like I said at the time and all I’ll say is LadyLuck was on my side! Enough said!August 12, 2013 at 06:52 #448178Do you really think the bubble burst on Intello Gord? I thought he ran really well for a horse that is surely suited by further.

Enough said!I’m not so sure. I think DA was the better horse until June/July but Toronado has slightly more scope and has improved (and may yet continue to do so). Either way he has certainly been campaigned a lot better. If you look at the two programmes you see the conventional Craven, 2,000, St James’, Sussex verses the haphazard 2,000, Derby, St James, Sussex, JLM. Saying all that I do think there should be another mile Group 1 in between the Sussex in July and the QEII in October!
I agree with you that Flintshire looks mustard (providing it doesn’t get too soft) and that Intello is made for the 10f races. It surprises me that he is not entered in the Juddmonte or the Irish Champ as one of those races could be at his mercy (the one Al Kazeem doesn’t run in). It will be interesting to see which way they go with him now and yesterday has certainly not dampened my enthusiasm for him.
The run of Olympic Glory was a surprise to me but, as you say, he has some strong form in the book AND was very fresh yesterday. He was up against several who have had tough seasons. I would be wary of him repeating that form next time out but you never know.
I was delighted to see War Command go down. I was on holiday when he won the Coventry but was seriously impressed that day and tried to get on for the Guineas at 14’s but wasn’t allowed a bet as I was abroad! Now THAT is luck. I have already backed the winner of next years Guineas as you know. My Great White Hope!!!
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
August 12, 2013 at 21:35 #448247Joni the winner of guineas is a king it is no it is not gord
KINGMAN it is people say maiden not worked out but look at way he won and he is going to be a top class colt.
Gord why you off war command am sure you said after coventry that none of the horses behind him that day will not turn form around now you back with Stubbs
Also when talking of INDIAN MUJHRAAEN i do think he be a derby horse but very rare that AOB drops a horse in trip from a 1m to 7f. and becomes a derby horse at 3 any examples out there of him doing it before.

Darren, I look at the top of the Guineas market and there’s certainly scope for change there as I don’t believe the winner is there, I just don’t see it I’m not trying to make another case for my unraced colt
Almuhalab
but I genuinely maintain that the winner doesn’t sit amongst the principals. Maybe he’s under the radar and has plenty of improvement to find, maybe he’s not yet run who knows, but from
Kingman
,
War Command
,
Great White Eagle
,
Berkshire
, the Derby winner
Indian Maharaja
or indeed the one of the bunch I do believe could go close
Toormore
, I’ll say this now, the winner does not lie there.
Darren, for me the case with
Indian Maharaja
is one I initially would have agreed with. However, the answer may be as simple as this – where else could Aidan O’Brien have run him at this stage of the season in pattern company without dropping him back? The fact he was technically only dropped half a furlong anyway was inconsequential, he clearly possesses both enough speed to win at that distance and looks like when it’s needed he’ll have the stamina to go further. He looks every bit the vintage archetypal Ballydoyle Derby horse for me and I can’t wait to see him truly tested and watch his price for Epsom tighten up
August 14, 2013 at 21:00 #448378Little race at Beverly tomorrow that went to a small Northern yard last year (1st and 2nd) and this year she sends the same 2 and one extra.
Race is the 200 and the stable jockeys look to be on the younger horses however Tracey Waggott has booked Franny Norton to ride the bottom weight Dean Irracht who actually went off 7/4 fav last year, now she doesn’t book many outside jockeys so the 12s BOG EW About this course specialist will do for me
August 14, 2013 at 21:48 #448387Any thoughts on st wilfred i like PEARL ICE in big race.

I like horse as well boz but normally this trainer trains his main derby horse with a 1m maiden then beresford then racing post trophy. This year though looks like he change with this horse and AUSTRALIA who ran in 7f races.Entries for racing post trophy out today too.
August 14, 2013 at 22:02 #448393I see O’Brien is running a horse at Leopardstown tomorrow which Coolmore have named after Gord’s old moniker. Amazing the people who read this forum, you just wouldn’t believe it.
Blackbeard to conquer the World
August 15, 2013 at 13:00 #448436Kevin Ryan believes his will win 230 Bev easily! Horse has improved greatly, slightly worried about ground, just chatted with jockey and he’s confident too

Well done Gary,
Online Alexander
looked impressive today and was obviously expected to win looking at the shape of things.I set off from Whitby at 9am this morning and went on a ‘Mystery’ tour that took me to Scarborough then Filey, then Bridlington then Beverley but I didn’t even see a Horsebox so never realised it was racing so I carried on over the Humber Bridge en-route to Lincoln to see an old house I used to live in on Cheviot St,I then popped into Newark Marina to check on the ‘Amico Cadiz’ then home for 5pm! Some drive home!! Time to catch up methinks!!
August 15, 2013 at 17:59 #448467Kingfisher ran a nice enough race there in 4th… But the winner looks a proper animal! Another possible Derby horse? I need to watch it again but
Free Eagle
looks very exciting.
August 15, 2013 at 18:39 #448469Was sitting there watching oddschecker waiting to see what price Free Eagle would be put in at, phone rings, miss 20/1
Perhaps it’s for the best, but if I can get 20/1 elsewhere I will take it. This fella has the look of Casual Conquest Turbo model.

Very exciting indeed Tommy, or not depending on where your ante post loyalties lie
