From the book "40 Years of Queen" there are various bits of memorabilia enclosed in this. Included, to promote the release of their 1976 album "A Day At The Races" is an extract of the Racecard in which EMI sponsored the day’s big hurdle race. The racecard looks like so :-

==================================================The book also refers to a "Queen – A Day At The Races" extremely rare promotional racing-themed board game. Only a handful are known to exist.
==================================================Do any of our older TRFers remember this day and who won the race? Looks like a fairly hot one to me. Does anyone remember the board game or by any chance own or maybe have owned the game in the past?
November 14, 2014 at 20:19 #495155Must be the hottest two-grand-to-the-winner race in the last 100 years!

November 14, 2014 at 21:31 #495165I think this is the game. Some people have said the game was made by Totopoly but I think it is based on Totopoly and made by Waddingtons.
That’s what this picture suggests anyway:-

The shop display looked like this:-

No idea where you might be able to get hold of it, probably few survive now.
Hope that helps in some small way.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
November 14, 2014 at 21:55 #495167I found this photo of the band at the meeting:-

Looks to me like a young John Francome and Fred Winter with the spoils, so I am assuming Lanzarote won the race.
I am going all sentimental with the nostalgia here.
There are some other photos from the meeting to scroll through as well.
Enjoy.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
November 14, 2014 at 23:02 #495172I assume this was a prelude to the long lost and much missed Charisma Gold Cup at Kempton?
November 16, 2014 at 11:08 #495414This was the race after the Charisma Gold Cup.
Lanzarote won easily by 8 lengths from Sea Pigeon, giving him 9lb. Comedy of Errors was an early 2nd flight faller.
The Charisma Gold Cup itself was won by Andy Pandy, clear of a field including the topweight Red Rum (5th) and Churchtown Boy (pu).
....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.
