What on earth were Murtagh (not for the first time this season) and O’Donoghue doing? If you backed the second to win and the fourth each-way you have effectively been robbed. Will the Stewards do anything? I very much doubt it. It is about time ‘rides’ like these were treated in the same way as non-triers.

Can I just ask, if it doesn’t offend you Stilvi, what race was you watching. O’Donoghue didn’t ride it was G M Lyons on board the second and Murtagh riding was fine to me. Had it covered up early on, a few taps with the whip as they approached final few furlongs, no response I might add. So he rode it out hands and heals. If you check Barrow Island past races you see he’s a one pace horse who was beaten quite simply by better horses.

The was no Stewards Enquiry because nothing suspicious had happened.

More to the point what race are you talking about?Barrow island wasn’t in the race in question and G M Lyons as far as i know is Ger Lyons the trainer so doubt he was riding.
I presume you’ve had a look at the 3.10 on Saturday by mistake,It’s the 3.10 on the Sunday thats being debated and Murtagh’s ride does look particularly badly judged to my eyes anyway!

Kirinda was out the back, pulled out wide last furlong and half and finished well, but still looked to be beaten by a better horse.

On a general note, why do every losing bet have to be a FIX, a swindle etc.
