Not very much not to like about Maybe although having been impressive on four occasions it is a bit of
mystery why she was pushed at Leopardstown
. However, it is all very well saying if the Guineas was in a couple of weeks she would be odds on, but we all know it isn’t and that is why Ladbrokes are dangling a not very appetising carrot. She might turn out to be just a very good two-year-old
She was pushed in Leopardstown by La Collina, hardly a bad horse by any means. Could also argue that JOB didn’t give her the greatest of rides and she carried 3lbs more than her rivals on yielding ground. If she trains on over the winter, she’ll take some beating IMO.
September 2, 2011 at 14:10 #369689I have to say the only horse 2yr old colt for me is Camelot and Dragon Pulse in Ireland. The rest are desperate disappointing bar(Power).
Maybe obviously best 2yr old in Europe…a real good un.
September 2, 2011 at 16:35 #369698Where you been Ruby you ok.
What you think of Harbour Watch and Jungle Beat
And i think Discourse will win 1000 guineas and will beat Maybe.Though i agree she is a top class horse.
September 2, 2011 at 17:08 #369701Wait till the Group’s races they can only show us what they are.
Harbour Watch a very pacey 2yr old. Not sure he play much part next year.
September 5, 2011 at 12:30 #370024Born To Sea will probaly make debut this week can’t wait for it
Any news when Noble Mission will debut
And did you guys see Akeed Mofeed hack up in a maiden at weekend as well.
September 5, 2011 at 18:20 #370053Yes Darren, I saw Akeed Mofeed. That was a very good performance. See Corals have priced him up at 25s for the Derby.
He won very easily there. The Racing Post write up was very complimentary, the race reader was very enthusiastic about him.
Definately one to follow. If he wins his next race I’d say it’s odds on he will be Derby favourite.
Nice mixture of speed and stamina in his pedigree.
I wonder if he stayed unbeaten this season would Oxx go Guineas-Derby with him…getting ahead of myself…but we’ve been here before!
September 6, 2011 at 17:50 #370206Goldolphin had 2 impressive 2yos win at Lingfield today Ihsas and
Punita both were nice winners.Born To Sea will make debut in listed race as well.
September 7, 2011 at 10:26 #370331i thought akeed mofeed was the most impressive juvenile winner ive seen this season so far, goes for the beresford stks next, same route as sea the stars
September 9, 2011 at 18:44 #370581Interesting Oxx is starting Born to Sea in a Listed race rather than a maiden. What does this tell us ?
My opinion of John Oxx is a conservative, patient individual who gives his two years olds plenty of time.
Putting this lad straight into a listed race would seem to go against the grain for him.
I shall definately be backing this lad tomorrow.
September 9, 2011 at 21:26 #370597John Oxx wrote in his column in today’s Irish Independent that the only reason Born To Sea is running in a listed race first time out is because there is no suitable maiden for him until the 25th of this month and he is keen to get a run into him now.
September 10, 2011 at 19:22 #370681Nice performance to win a listed race on debut but let’s face it there will be stronger maidens run this season and the price for the Guineas relative to a horse who is unbeaten in four is ludicrous.

did anyone see
IMPERIAL MONARCH
he looks very very very nice
September 11, 2011 at 10:18 #370718Excellent debut from Born to Sea, last to first and did it easily. A lot to look forward to there.
I too was impressed with Imperial Monarch, a very nice debut. He’s got a lovely middle distance pedigree.
September 11, 2011 at 14:29 #370734I was taken by Born To Sea, he got into trouble a furlong or so out but just quickened nicely. I agree there is a big over reaction in prices but I suppose the hype is there. The horse won well first time out and looked impressive.
Imperial Monarch travelled well and quickened well too, equally impressive I’d think, the only downer was he seems to hit the ground quite hard with a round action and I wonder how he’d like faster ground.
Two nice performances to liven up the scene for sureSeptember 12, 2011 at 18:18 #370800AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 17716
Im stating the obvious here but wasn’t
SWERVE
14:45 LISTOWEL today.
impressive
? she may not of beating much but won by 8½ on Soft to Heavy ground has got to be classy ?
September 18, 2011 at 14:12 #371279Eternal Bounty big eyecatcher. Bred to be an Oaks filly and hopefully will make more of an impact than the disappointing Unity.
September 23, 2011 at 17:37 #371774Very impressed with Spritual Star. I don’t think I have seen a two-year-old move better this season and although he might not stay much more than today’s trip if firm appeared in the going description on Guineas day he might take some pegging back.
