This is always a solid race, with a few interesting runners.

Elegant Escape jumps out immediately, but this may be a prep for Newbury, a plan which worked perfectly for Native River two years ago.

The sponsors, Bet365, have a market up, and it’s their outsider I really like, Planet Nine.

I thought he looked very promising last season, and though from a less fashionable yard, I thought he had proper potential.

I was hoping to see him entered for the old “Fixed Brush” at Haydock, but this will do, wouldn’t want to miss him.

Yes, if a few of the big guns have this as the plan, then he’s got his work cut out, but at 40’s, I don’t have to worry about that risk. Happy to chance him, and I’ll happily top up if I can get bigger. Edit Topped up 50’s.

I cannot see beyond CLYNE if he repeats his form of the Aintree Hurdle when he looked as if the extra half mile would be no problem as he galloped on relentlessly.
