I can’t seem to find confirmation of who’s on Yorkhill either. But if it is David then I find that a tad disappointing that Townend is upon the fruit instead.

If Faugheen was thought back to his best wouldn’t have cheek pieces.
If Yorkhill was thought back to his best would have Townend on board.

Elgin gets his ground and his form has been comprehensively franked by Call Me Lord. I know he isn’t “good enough” for a lot of people, but I think he’s still improving and is hard not to fancy. Still overpriced for me.

Simple choice in this one, a win bet on Buveur D’Air @ 4/7, could oblige by 10 lengths if he was pushed right out. My Tent Or Yours has run on Heavy twice and underperformed both times so the E/W angle is Wicklow Brave but at 14/1 with the only main firm going 1/4 & BOG it’s not worth backing a horse that cannot win.

Buveur d’Air here for me at Evens and in a double with Footpad 4/1. Didn’t really have a bet here and stepped in when Betfair enhanced his odds to Evens this week.

Earlier had Call me Lord 25/1 EW without Buveur d’Air. NRNB luckily.

I can’t see Buveur D’Air getting beaten, but stranger things have happened. He’s not a
betting proposition for me at those odds, but I do think that Ch’tibello
has very decent claims for a place. I’ve backed him ages back at 50s, took the 40s NRNB
with Boylesports, and earlier last night when Paddy Power went 66/1 I had some of that
as well. He has run many stout races against very decent horses, and on ground that will
suit him better than My Tent Or Yours, whom he has beaten 2 out of their last 3 runs, I
think he will reverse the form last time out. I can’t get my head around him being 50/1
whilst MTOY is as low as 16s. In the International Hurdle, run here in December, he was
4th behind MTOY, The New One and Melon, but he was right there and challenging when he got
squeezed when he was making a move going to the last, had to sit tight until after the last,
and it was all a bit of a sprint finish. He didn’t have time to catch them, but was (imo)
running on best of them. He finished closely behind Melon, and that one is as low as 14s.
He’s never going to be a great Champion Hurdle winner, but Buveur D’Air aside, this is a
very average affair. I’ll be disappointed if he’s not there or thereabouts battling on up
    the hill at the death.

My Tent Or Yours is a non runner today on veterinary advice.

I can really only see two horses who could feasibly defeat the favourite with a return to form.

    Faugheen 13/2
    Yorkhill 16/1

Here’s hoping one of them does.

Loads of Nicky Henderson’s have been pulled out over the last week or so. Do wonder if everything’s ok in the yard. But may be I’m just nervous as he’s still a good 7/10 in my “trainer form”.

However, Willie Mullins is a 10/10, barely had a loser recently.

So along with my 5/1 Beuver D’Air have done Faugheen 9/4 and Melon 6/1 in the betting without market.

Wouldn’t worry. He has a big team and just individual little niggles. Plus his horses tend to be Good ground merchants and with it being Heavy one or two NRs could be due to convenient excuses.

I was happy enough to just sit tight with Ch’tibello e/w in this, but Bet365 emailed a
good offer. Place a bet on any race, and get a free bet to the same stake (up to £25)
in the Champion Hurdle. I stuck on Mengli Khan and I’ve used my free £25 on Wicklow Brave
at 16/1 (on the nose). They are offering the same each day, bet £25 on any race, on the
same day as the nominated race between 1pm and the off time, and get a free bet on the
nominated race. Tomorrow is the Champion Chase, then the Ryanair and finally the Gold Cup.
I’m not sure if this is a general offer on the site, or if you have to receive the email offer.

I would like to see BDA get beat, and I’d love Faugheen to do the job. I also suspect Wicklow Brave has a big race in him so why not, too? Now is the time to bet like idiots…

Faugheen has won over 3miles on heavy. I reckon he will do the business

Well, that was much closer than expected. Weak race in my opinion.
