Vicence 10/1
Alvarado 25/1
Portrait King 33/1April 22, 2017 at 10:50 #1297794Don’t fancy anything here so will risk a small bet on Father Edward. The horse has some ability – how much he has and when he’ll choose to use it is another matter but at around 200 on Betfair I’m happy to take a wee chance.
Good luck all
April 22, 2017 at 11:23 #1297806I find this very tricky. Might be temped to back Alvarado because lower weights have a very good record in the race. Not that many winners carried more than 11 stone. However there’s no obvious reason why he won’t be outpaced again and might again stay on too late.
Premier Bond also the type I back although I agree with the comments about his form being nothing special.

Are you feeling ok Joe? The Game Changer last week and Father Edward this time. Will be legendary if you pull it off though!
April 22, 2017 at 12:49 #1297835Funny that it’s actually a race for lower weighted horses, because I think of it as a race for top weights. I guess that’s because the top weight ones really stick in my mind. Especially Grey Abbey and Belmont King whose owner if my memory isn’t playing up again) purchased him as a horse to watch on the telly on Saturday afternoons (feel free to correct me if wrong!).
April 22, 2017 at 14:17 #1297854I have went for Vivaldi Collonges each way at 33-1, I just think this is the perfect meeting for him and I went for 5 places.
With 6 places and both at 40-1, Dancing Shadow based on his Musselburgh run, andcwith all the talk of Henri Parry, could the trainer sneak a win here for Al Co right under the radar?
I would be happy for one of them to place

:)
Indeed. I’ve an awful record in this race anyway, and on top of that don’t fancy anything.
April 22, 2017 at 15:55 #1297889Added Straidnahana just at the off

(Posted the above before going out for the evening but it seems he has since left hospital, that’s great news.)
Congrats to those who had Vicente.
April 22, 2017 at 18:04 #1297915Quelle Farce, your horse Cogry ran a mighty race – hard luck.
Racing Orchid – well done.
Nathan – a silver medal for you for not jinxing!

Bugger thought Cogry was gonna hang on but hey ho second aint bad!!
April 23, 2017 at 02:06 #1297957Thanks Raymo. I wasn’t sure he was going to get up. Have had plenty of close seconds recently so know how it feels. Now for the bet 365 finale at Sandown !
April 23, 2017 at 09:56 #1297970Main bet was Henri PM – didn’t jump nearly well enough, second bet was Arpege D’Alene – hopefully he’s OK?
I threw 2 quid ew at Cogry at 40s for third bet because it was too big.
So it was a day for being chinned on the line having been on Zubayr at 18s earlier
Funny thing I watched the recording of the race blind after having been out all afternoon. As I started cheering Cogry louder and louder Mrs GD was struggling to contain her mirth having already seen the result on the net.
April 23, 2017 at 10:52 #1297986Well done Racing Orchid & Nathan
