Checked my bets and realised didn’t actually back Sandymount Duke and Devils Bride! So scrambled to b365 and did them, SD down to 12s but DB out to 33s. Added Vintage Vinnie at 25s for good measure, 5 places 1/4 odds all.
Good luckAugust 2, 2017 at 17:34 #1312524Oh dear; I’ve had to add Heron Heights, who seemed like shaping into a good horse until the fences and his legs and other horses [his race record is full of ‘hampered’]got in the way. If none of these things cause a problem he might run well at a big price [but I’m not holding my breath]. I think backing him should carry a public health warning [ditto riding him…]
August 2, 2017 at 17:49 #1312525Got a good run for my money! Reckon the ground did for Sandymount D rather than the jumping left, he was tired at the end. Devils Bride unlucky but don’t know if would’ve had enough in the tank to win. Thought Shaneshill might’ve had the class to carry that weight in the softish ground to win but no dice.
Race suits a horse that doesn’t mind a bit of rough n tumble! Had to make do with my SD e/w money, congrats to anyone with the winner.August 2, 2017 at 17:55 #1312527Oh dear; I’ve had to add Heron Heights, who seemed like shaping into a good horse until the fences and his legs and other horses [his race record is full of ‘hampered’]got in the way.
I looked long and hard at him but thought it’s not a race for the accident prone! Ruled out Arbre de Vie for same reason and backed VV in the hope that keeping up front out of trouble would be half the battle; but making all on soft is hard yakka and he faded out of the places.
August 2, 2017 at 17:57 #1312528Fun race to watch, hope all horses and jocks who came to grief are all OK.
August 2, 2017 at 22:55 #1312566At least Phil made the frame!! Looked like a hard ride to me. Maybe he is just lazy!!
August 3, 2017 at 12:58 #1312627Fair play to the winner, I thought last week he was a false favourite, but he showed plenty to land that.
Well played Raymo with the place, and also to Lemons, who got both of his in the first four.
If I conveniently forget Alelchi Inois, then I was delighted with mine, and to get the 3, 4, 5 in a race like this at this stage of the season, then I will take some encouragement from that.
August 3, 2017 at 15:50 #1312650Thanks Vtc it was a good feeling to start back with two returns.
August 3, 2017 at 19:23 #1312678WD with the places folks esp Lemons for putting faith in young Slowmotion at a nice price
