I’d love to find out what has happened to Peace & Co. Even off today’s fast pace he never looked happy and was done with a long way out.
what happened to peace and co is that he won a hugely overrated triumph hurdle full of journeyman horses and everyone thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread
You seem to be effectively saying “I told you he wasn’t any good”, when the horse is so obviously injured/sick.
Value Is EverythingMarch 15, 2016 at 23:04 #1237826Sorry I’m almost glad Faugheen had his setback after seeing that today. Thought Annie jumped her hurdles beautifully and as ever Ruby was just great on her. She’s always had a place in my heart since she ran in a bumper at Listowel at 1/10. Most bode well for More Of That tomorrow

I’m saying I told u so simply because the evidence was there all season that the 2015 triumph was a vastly overrated race. Top notch and hargams performances prove that and even peace and co at his best wasn’t a whole lot better than both of them. So either all three are injured and sick or people just got carried away with last year’s triumph
March 16, 2016 at 00:08 #1237855Being there in the crowd when Ruby and Annie turn the corner and kick clear going up to the last. The atmosphere upped a notch, almost palpable. As soon as she cleared the final hurdle the roar was tremendous, it was electric. Almost like everyone thought “******* hell she is good!” You’d never get that on the flat!
March 16, 2016 at 02:12 #1237870Just so happy about Annie being allowed to show her true class; should definitely be her 2nd Champion Hurdle, except fro Willie’s (understandable) fondness for The Fly, tho US would have been a formidable opponent. Her pace through the race had most of the others gasping from the start, and the roar when she accerated away coming to the final hurdle…..
Be fascinating to see what happens next; vs Faugheen, or fences for the Gold Cup. Ideally I’d like to see her have won the CH 2 yrs ago, and contending fro the GC this year. But enjoy the day; thrilled (and 5-2 was a decent price)
March 16, 2016 at 05:48 #1237886Any chance of AP being allowed to defend her crown against Faugheen next year?
No, I thought not.

It looks as though one of them will be switched to chasing. Either that or Annie Power goes back to the mares’ race next year after not ripping up any trees in her last piece of work.
March 16, 2016 at 08:14 #1237901Limini will win the mares hurdle. VVM will settle on chasing and either go Ryanair or gold cup.
Annie if she has an uninterrupted season could go to the world hurdle or even both Faugheen and Annie in the champion.
The other possibility is that Annie is retired. Not many mares make it to ten without being retired or put in foal. -
