I know you’ve still got to brave/lucky enough to pick these horses, but they becoming more common. I wonder if Mike007 picked it.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.April 2, 2026 at 19:52 #1761789Kelso reclaim a share of the record they lost when Blowers 300/1 win at Exeter eclipsed Equinoctial’s win at 250/1 in 1990.
Dead chuffed for Stuart Coltherd who hasn’t had a winner for a year. His first string in the race Changemyluck had gone very close against a hotpot last time and this time got beaten by a stablemate.
April 2, 2026 at 20:44 #1761791Makes me wonder … what is your guys biggest odds winner ever?
I don’t think I have done better then 66/1.

In recent years it was 80/1 Rashabar, ridden by Billy the Kid,
in the Coventry Stakes on day one of Royal Ascot 2024.April 2, 2026 at 21:09 #1761796I wonder if Mike007 picked it.
300/1 EW 6 places

I had 80/1 EW (overnight) on Sire De Berlais in the Stayers’ Hurdle back in 2023 and for just £1 EW I had a horse tipped by Jonathan Neesom in a Taunton Maiden Hurdle some 7-8 years ago that won at 100/1. My only winner in that sphere.
April 2, 2026 at 21:21 #176179766/1 my highest ever win odds and that only came last year
VF x
April 2, 2026 at 22:09 #1761801I had Private Life at 66 to 1 last year four months before his Caulfield Guineas win , my wife recorded me and my mate cheering it home , memory will last a lifetime ,just lasted .
Not a winner but i backed The Refrigerater in the Cesarewitch at 100 to 1 each way , Jopanni ran out first sight of running rails , left it lead from there until under furlong out , run out of it late into 5th !! .Double Dutch won .
Both times my involuntary instinct was to start banging my fist onto the floor to make the horse go faster.April 2, 2026 at 22:34 #1761802My biggest winner was Charles Pogson trained Oscardeal, a Southwell handicap hurdle winner at an average 165 on Betfair (SP 40/1) back in February 2009.
April 2, 2026 at 23:19 #1761803Sublimity 80/1 Champion hurdle. Labaik in the Supreme but can’t remember the odds. Having missed out on Mon Mome in the National because I’d backed him at 33/1 when the weights came out my search for the 100/1 winner ended when Edwulf won that big race in Ireland after virtually coming back from the dead at Cheltenham. Annoyingly I was watching the Kelso races because I’d had an ew treble on Adams horses and didn’t really pay much attention to the other runners, although I doubt if I’d have paid much attention to that one. He won it well, though.
April 2, 2026 at 23:22 #1761804Star Appeal in the Arc. 118-1. Sadly only had a shilling each way but it was a fortune to a 13 year old at the time. I’d also backed him in the Eclipse (20-1 I think). Sadly all downhill since then. Peaked too soon!!
April 3, 2026 at 05:24 #1761811Think I have had 1 100-1 , best 2 inremember was 66s on Yorkhill for a 4000-1 treble ( I had 20p on it lol ) , at a track it would be 66s Al Co in the Scot Nat , I reckon I was the only one on in the crowd …. I screamed him home

As i am mainly a form follower big odds isn’t something i have a go at too often, my best opportunity for that kinda thing was and is likely going to be antepost picks on races like the National. And that’s where my biggest one came about. Tiger Roll 40-1 in the first National.
April 3, 2026 at 07:28 #1761815I have never had a three figure winner.
However last summer I took my 14 year old nieces to Perth. I asked them to independently pick a horse in the first(a maiden hurdle) but they managed to choose the same horse anyway. It was Just An Artist of Nick Alexander’s.
I thought it had no chance so I only put a few pounds each way. It led from the start, was never headed and came in at 125-1

Our planned trip to Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh later in the week became a shopping trip to Princes Street instead as they spent their ill gotten gains.
April 3, 2026 at 17:51 #1761844patriot – I did have Just An Artist down in my paddock notebook as ‘looked well’ for that Perth race…, but not the sort of race I’d get involved in for betting purposes.
Regarding the Crokes Cross novice hurdle, my thought was that it probably wasn’t much of a race with 6 in contention approaching hte last. That said the winner did show a good attitude after the last and I would imagine Stuart Coltherd will find a race for the second Changemyluck, possibly a mares novice.
