Actually I thought the three of them worked pretty well today. I couldn’t stand Hayley Turner when she started but I think she’s one of the better presenters now that she’s more relaxed. I find Adele’s obsession with tack irritating (does the general public really want to know what bit a horse is wearing?) but, otherwise, she’s OK.
My main (very petty) hate is that all of them “overly” use the word “overly” which, as far as I can tell, means “very”, or, more often than not, isn’t needed at all. See also “Ran” when they mean “Run”. Not as if most of them aren’t well-educated. Either they pick these ticks up from each other or it’s a general “horsey-type” language. Certainly nobody I know talks like that.
Interesting that you think Francesca has got better Gladiateur because I think she’s been getting worse. She was much better as anchor today though, so maybe that should be her role. Usually I find her constant asking of obvious questions of fellow presenters (many far less knowledgeable than herself) very wearing. Likely this is a producer decision (just like Chapman’s antics). Perhaps we should be focusing on production staff rather than presenters.
