Ombudsman has to come with one late run to use that turn of foot, the races in which he has been beaten invariably was because he used that turn of foot too early and that is what happened here when he used that speed to get into a challenging position up the inside and then had nothing left at the finish.
CR just pulled too hard early on but quite frankly I am happy this blew up in Team O’Brien’s faces as those kind of tactics don’t deserve to be rewarded in any way.
