If any lawyers are reading and in the unlikely event anyone still cares, it is worth pointing out that Thorpe was acquitted. 
But only after the judge summed up by describing Peter Bessell as “a humbug” and Norman Scott as “a fraud, a sponger, a whiner and a parasite”.
