Yep Jac Popmaster ran a cracker, we both did well out of him ![]()
In the last I couldn’t make my mind up about between Aurora Majesty
and Colombier. In the end I put them the wrong way round with Colombier
winning it at 12/1. I was well ahead in the day so I couldn’t resist
putting an e/w on Colombier at 16/1…..

Pity I didn’t swap them on my Pick3. I’d only have been 1 point off
MICKEYJP’S derriere with the 27 points. Anyway, I had the option and
MICKEYJP played a blinder. I’m more than happy with any podium place
and it was only day 1 after all. It’s the big day today
I’ve just spent about 2 hours going through what I can only describe
as the worst Derby I’ve ever seen. There’s nothing that shows the type
of real class that normally sticks out like a sore thumb. Believe it or
not, the only horse that I can see improving over 1m 4f is one that should
not even be entered here. But I’m only going by my eyes, so I’ve had a bit
of 100/1 on Rebel Rocker. 80/1 e/w with Bet365 also. I’ve tried so hard to
find reasons not to back him, but my gut reckons he has a real chance of
a place, even although all sense tells me that it’s a horse trained by
someone who can’t win a Derby and a jockey who has so little knowledge of
running in a race like this. The rest are just so average.
I suppose the only proper chance, because the rest are poor, is Item who
I’ve used a bit of my sensible head based on his last run where he seemed
not to know what he should be doing, but eventually just took off in the
last furlong.
