Now the rumour mill suggests that Burnham has a seat lined up in the Greater Manchester area. That looks risky to me, given what happened in the Gorton by-election and the local elections.
Bootle looks a far safer bet. Reform are not popular in the Liverpool region. Perhaps Dowd has refused to stand aside?
