Saturday just about summed up my watching of jump racing over the past few seasons. Unable to watch my recording of it and relieved that I usually close my eyes when they jump a fence. Not sure how the Skeltons stable ( a stable I am fond of after Dan came to our racing club years ago)could carry on celebrating after the loss of Thiste Ask and my heart just goes out to his poor lad. What made it worse was that they’d cracked the 5 million aim in the earlier race so he didn’t really need to run. Seems to me that chasing records often seems to result in a fatality or injury ( eg Willie Mullins in last years Bet Fred).
