And no more so than this debacle. Jeez even his own team are wondering why the hell he even considered Mandelson. That bloke has more baggage than an Italian market bags stall.
Starmer’s no leader; he’s been at the mercy of his backbenchers for the last year. Large majority Westminster governments always have issues with their backbenchers. His government cabinet are no different.
The thing is British PMs dont have the singular power that the modern media and the public think. Yes, there’s undue scrutiny of PMs and ‘we’ like to paint a picture of an individual PM but our political system is actually NOT presidential, so the constant focus on a PM is quite ‘misleading’.
I’ve thought he should’ve gone months ago, but now i’d like him to stay as PM, as he’s such an electoral liability for Labour
