Missed it, thankfully, as was away visiting a friend. I was on my way home and pulled in at the side of the road to watch the Irish National, had a few minutes to spare so looked at the results first, saw he hadn’t even been in the first three so clicked into the full results and scrolled down to his entry in the race report.
It’s always a gut punch, isn’t it, when it’s one of your favourites.
I really liked him, and was so worried about him when he fell at Listowel a couple of years ago.
