I don’t know much about employment law, or even the law in general but he’s entitled to a fair hearing. There will be an appeals process available to him which I assume could go as far as the courts in theory, and we know his salary, he can afford good lawyers. The BBC can’t just tell us everything, certain facts could prejudice any appeals process and hand him a slam dunk win.
Just a semi-educated guess, happy to be corrected.
