I’ve just got back from racing at Kempton Park this afternoon and turned on BBC News to catch up on the day’s events. Understandably, their US correspondent came up first but when they switched to the London studio, the two lead headlines were the arrest of Tiger Woods and the Pope’s visit to Monaco.
Any mention of the anti-fascist rally in London today, attended by an estimated half a million people? Nope. Had it been a far-right rally, even a far smaller one, you can guarantee that it would have been the lead non-Iran story.
By the way, Sarah Pochin must be puce with rage this evening: both the Washington presenter and the studio lead are brown women.
19:21 – the protests in the US against Trump get coverage… still no mention of the rally in London.
