On the subject of solar panels, there’s still an element on the right who appear to believe that the country would grind to a halt if a cloud covered the sun. Idiots.
Indeed, solar panels still generate electricity when it’s cloudy, having a range of 10-25% of that in full sun, and efficiency at all light levels continues to improve as this technology is still immature.
That China is investing heavily in solar is common knowledge; perhaps lesser known is that the Middle-Eastern oil-producing countries are doing much the same. Climate-wise they are, of course, ideal.
