It still hasn’t got any better for City of Liverpool FC. Next weekend will almost certainly see their relegation to the sixth tier of the non league mathematically confirmed. They haven’t won a match since last October and their goal difference stands at an “impressive” minus 124.
Worse still, their current landlords at Burscough have announced that Skelmersdale will be their tenants next season, which means C of L will need to find a new ground. Which might be awkward for a club believed to have defaulted on rental payments to both Bootle and Burscough.
Quite a fall from grace for a club launched with such lofty ambition and that only two years ago was in a play off to get into the Northern Premier and the upper reaches of the non leagues.
