Who will win the 2018 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot?

It’s just days until Royal Ascot horse racing extravaganza kicks off, and all sports betting fans will be looking ahead to the Queen Anne Stakes race on Tuesday 19 June 2018. This classic Group One flat horse race has seen many thrilling results over its celebrated history, and all eyes will be on who can follow up Ribchester’s incredible winning performance in 2017.

At the moment, most bookies seem to be favouring the Irish-trained Rhododendron who managed to deliver an excellent performance to win the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May earlier this year. Rhododendron is trained by Aidan O’Brien and is widely tipped to pick up the £685,000 in prize winnings, but we’ve seen many sporting upsets in the Queen Anne Stakes ever since the race began in 1840.

So who could shock the bookies by beating Rhododendron this June? Many experienced horse racing fans have suggested that Benbatl is looking especially good at the moment. Benbatl put in an exceptional showing at the Dubai Turf race in Meydan in March, and quickly proved that rivals like Vivlos and Janoobi had little chance of matching the pace of this highly-ranked racehoRse.

Much of Benbatl’s success has been put down to the trainer Saeed Bin Surour who is already a four-time champion trainer at Ascot, and we can expect big things from Bin Surour who has had a fairly quiet racing season this year so far. If you look at any of the best horse racing betting sites featured at https://openodds.com/, then you will probably get a good price on Benbatl to win this mile-long race.

The four-year old colt has already proven to be a success at UK horse racing with a very respectable win at the Hampton Court Stakes last year, and with experience at the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, we think the Benbatl could put in a great performance.

Other runners who could be worth a bet include the likes of Lightning Spear and Thunder Snow. Whilst Lightning Spear was only just pipped by Rhododendron in the Lockinge Stakes, we think that this dual Group 2 winner could be another good option, especially with the legendary rider, Oisin Murphy, at the helm.

Don’t discount Thunder Snow either, as this is another Saeed bin Suroor-trained horse that recently managed to win the Dubai World Cup in record time. So whilst the bookmakers are currently favouring Rhododendron, we can see that the 2018 Queen Anne Stakes is going to be another thrilling race at Royal Ascot.
