What would a ‘Lad’s Day’ at Cheltenham look like?

It’s finally here – The Cheltenham Festival 2018, the outstanding four-day event will start Tuesday 13th and finish Friday 16th of March. The Cheltenham Festival is massive occasion in the racing calendar and has so many people attending, particularly the Irish fans who come to support the best Irish horses, jockeys and trainers.

It looks to be bigger than ever with an estimated 10,000 Irish horse racing fans will be attending Cheltenham 2018. With the event coinciding with St Patrick’s Day, around 200,000 pints of Guinness will be consumed at the Festival!

If Paddy Power were to do a lad’s day at the races, it would be such a crazy fun-filled day with race goers, dressed up in the finest tweed suits with elaborate and intricate hats and plenty more interesting feats. The Cheltenham Festival is a fantastic opportunity for lads to put their best foot forward and stand out amongst the large crowd.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity to place some bets and be in with a chance of winning. You’ll want to do your research before heading off to the Festival, to see what horses have the totes quivering in fear. One horse in particular, Faugheen, has got a few punters talking, after taking a long break due to a previous injury, he looks to be one of the most dominating horses in memory. His final performance (before his injury) was a stunning 15 length victory over Artic Fire, which resulted in a RPR of 177. With Paddy Power’s odds at 2/1 for the Champion’s Hurdle, Faugheen has managed to garner quite a backing.

There is another name that stands out from the crowd, Samcro. Despite never racing at Cheltenham before it offers quite a bit of potential to punters. Samcro’s trainer, Gordon Elliott, has helped to generate some positive buzz on the intense training which has resulted with Paddy Power odds of 6/4 in the Supreme Novices, which is close behind Getabird at 11/8. For the Ballymore Novices, Samcro can been seen leading the way with 8/11.
