Lovely picture Hammy…still no news as yet, I suppose they can’t say until he comes round properly, but no news is sometimes good news so fingers crossed.

@ Andoyd…I’m sure you didn’t mean that the way it sounded. St. Nicholas Abbey has been such a great servant to racing he deserves everyone to be pulling for him at this worrying time. Terrible tragedies warrant our upmost respect at all times sad things are happening all over the World. St. Nicholas Abbey has become a very special horse to lots of people and who wouldn’t want to send positive thoughts his way to return to full health again and hopefully continue his career as a Stallion. It sounds really serious, I’m going to be on tenterhooks all day now until he comes through this. Be brave and strong SNA all thoughts are with you.

I was really glad when he came home though Nathan :D

If someone works so hard for something all their life nobody could sit back and let it go under, that’s why Lady Jane will stay at the helm of her husbands empire and keep the Cecil flag flying proud at Warren Place.

Joni..my other half has to put up with a lot believe me, but thank you for those kind words.

Like you I loved Sir Henry and all that he stood for and I hope that somehow Lady Jane and her team will carry on and that Mike Marshall and the rest of the team keep supporting her and, as you said, why should there be any reason they would not.

Great result, I knew Ed Dunlop wouldn’t let your son down. :D

Perhaps one day you could take him along to Newmarkets Open Day Nathan, here is the link:

Think that’s Ed Dunlop with Ouija Board in one of the pictures

You can visit the local yards that participate and get up close to possible stars of the future and some old favourites.

Jabus has been entered at Limerick on Thursday in 2 separate races, fingers crossed that he is OK..it seems that the poor jockey broke 3 vertebrae in that fall but thankfully no mention of horse fatality.
No news of Eirland as yet though, hope all is well.

If I were Lady Cecil Joni I would be rallying the troops like Boadicea going into battle, I would have the best Bloodstock Agents out at the sales, keep my best and most faithful men by my side and fight to the death before I let anyone within the walls of my beloved Warren Place.

I really think Lady Cecil can continue (if she wants to) at Warren Place, she showed great strength and determination at Royal Ascot and Prince Khaled will remain faithful as long as he continues to be involved in horse racing.

I wouldn’t like to see the Qatar team move into the beautiful home that Sir Henry loved and cherished, somehow it wouldn’t seem right it’s such a lovely English Rose of a property and I hope it remains within the family at all costs.

It’s not going to be easy but when my husband went into hospital for 6 weeks for heart surgery I continued to run his business, I sat up all night going through his customer records and sales to help keep his wholesale business up and running until he came home again. With him being 6 weeks out of the picture his customers could have gone elsewhere but they stayed faithful and I managed to keep it ticking and orders went out and thankfully came in. Same with racing the horses will go out and the winners will come in…and they will, she has a loyal and faithful team and her owners won’t desert and hopefully will grow in numbers.

Sadly Sir Henry will not be coming home to Lady Jane, but she would have got a good idea over the years how the business runs and the type of horses that Sir Henry had an eye for (you could always pick them out in the paddock) Timepiece, Midday, Twice Over, they all had the stamp of approval of Sir Henry all over them.

I hope that Lady Jane and her team can continue to keep Sir Henry’s legacy alive and kicking at Warren Place..Pull up the drawbridge..arm the battlements and keep the enemy at bay.
God Bless Sir Henry his memory will live on at Warren Place somehow I’m sure of it.

Well done Steve for your win with Chiquita, must admit I never got past Talent and Riposte for todays Irish Oaks but it looks like Talent, who Richard Hughes stated did nothing at home has transferred her laziness to the racecourse.

However, you can’t really rule out either Riposte or Talent for one bad run, there could have been a number of factors involved and both seemed to have been dropped out maybe saved for another day. Let’s hope Sky Lantern another lazy filly at home manages to get over her Falmouth beatings on the course and on the nose (ouch :( ) to take the Nassau at Goodwood the week after next.

Had a nice few winners at Newmarket today notably Midnight Flower, Waila and Narmin who run a blinder to beat Godolphin’s Satwa Story, but put Satwa Story in your notebook Steve a magnificent colt by Street Cry he looked amazing in the paddock and was expected to win today  . Jac

    RIP dear Galaxy Rock
This race was being broadcast at Newmarket and we heard that Galaxy Rock had fallen but later on the next circuit that they were by passing a fence as Galaxy Rock had gone down.

It was devastating news and I’m so sorry for everyone concerned with this horse, of course also knowing that he was the horse that A.P Macnamara was riding when he fell at the first, it was sad that it had to end this way for him, he was only trying to do his best, poor boy.

Thank goodness another A.P. got up safely but so sad for Galaxy and Jonjo O’Neil, the owners and all concerned. :(

Not a fan of Summer Jumps and wish it would go back to when we had the Flat Season from around end March to end October and the Jumps Season from around October through to April. The ground, especially in this hot weather, is much to firm and the distances too long. :( :(

:D TALENT..all the way for me too.
Not much time to say more rushing off to Newmarket now, but will be tuning into William Hill Radio to listen to the race after racing tonight.
Glad to see that she hasn’t to run against her stable companion Secret Gesture, it’s all about Talent and she has it in spades.
