Jumping into open company from his novice campaign is a big ask, hes going to have to improve another 7lbs to beat a fully wound up melon, more than capable going forward, might find it tough in his novice season would be my only concern…

Personally Ham, they will need to go a right pace for Melon to be seen at his best. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him underperform here. Clearly, Mullins will know what he needs in terms of pace, but unless they use Coquin Mans i can’t see the pace coming from elsewhere.

Samcro will win tomorrow doing handstands lads. And because of that will probably be the 2019 CH winner at the festival.

If beaten tomorrow, he’s the JLT winner instead.

Gordon Elliott quoted as saying today’s race will decide which route Samcro will take next season. So if you think he will win today the 7-1 about him for next year’s Champion Hurdle will disappear if antepost is your thing.

I done a fiver at 20’s for the Champion Hurdle
and bits and bobs of turnover money on the win any race market so would be quite happy for him to go that route. I think he is more than capable of doing himself justice in that division. Today’s race will tell a lot as Melon is a decent enough yardstick. They surely have to weigh it up as a possibility as besides Buver D’air the division isn’t overly strong at preset.

Well that’s certainly left things up in the air
I suppose at least the price to win any race will remain the same so can still tuck into that

I’ve pencilled him in for the Arkle. Looks like the easier race and Samcro isn’t an RSA type.

There aren’t any from the Supreme whom I consider potential Arkle winners
