I didn’t know him myself but sad to see Alan Potts pass away.

He had Sizing John and some other good ones to look forward to this season.

Best of wishes to his family.

What's all the fuss about Estimate on the Racing Legends Stamps?

There's always been a second rate Mare on them anyway 😉

Our sport depends on eccentric super-rich old men and women like Potts. However you feel about some of the decisions he made, Pots was certainly a true believer in NH racing and ploughed a huge amount of money into the sport. He earned the success of Sizing Europe, Sizing John, Fox Norton and the rest.

Hopefully his family retain an active interest in the sport.

    R I P Mr Potts.

Such a shame both he and his wife should pass away in a short space of time and after such a wonderful day for them at Cheltenham in March

    Sad news.
    Best wishes to his family.

Think we’d better point out this is the owner of the Sizing horses who’s died, not the British gambler and former TRF member of the same name.

Sad news – quite fitting that they had those successes in the last year after all they had put in.

Yes great investors for the sport to have had and I’m really glad they got their Gold Cup.
Condolences to family and good luck with those lovely horses.

Sad news indeed, my condolences to his family and friends, he is a big loss to the National Hunt sphere.

Hopefully his famous yellow, green, and red silks, worn to glory by the likes of Sizing Europe and more recently Sizing John, outlive him by many years.

I never met him but the sport will be the poorer for his passing away.

One thing I do miss about racing from a decade or more ago is the owners. JP was often on the tv, David Johnson chatting about gambles…

It’s alright seeing these syndicates squeezing into the winners enclosure but I miss the characters that seemed to be more prevalent in national hunt racing back then
